"I spent an hour and a half at the entrance to the emergency room of a major New York City hospital this afternoon, watching, observing. No panic. No crisis, no emergency that I could see whatsoever. Zilch. Nothing. I saw perhaps a hundred people associated with the hospital who couldn't have been more unrushed, lackadaisical, and/or unconcerned. Not one person would speak to me on camera (video). I saw all of four people enter the hospital on gurneys....3 of whom were very old, none of whom seemed to be in any discomfort at all. ......... And for this we shut down essentially all economic activity in NYC-- an unprecedented measure in all of human history. Somebody help me out, because I think I'm going to go insane now......"

What is the fallacy for equating what is currently happening with what would have happened? I guess you missed the 80 bazillion MSM news reports of NYC hospitals saying they are literally being overrun with COVID-19 patients? Like today. Now. Like hundreds of dead bodies everywhere. Panic, everywhere. Supposedly. Here's one: https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/nyc-deaths-top-1300-as-potentially-catastrophic-apex-looms-later-this-month/2356187/

This sideways $6,666 reminds me of sideways $666 back in the day. Didn't we see rockets and trains soon after? Or perhaps my rose-tinted spectacles are back on.
Maybe if you move the mask down a little bit, then it you could see the road (to richie) a wee bit MOAR better.

if you pay in cash he will gladly take the $80 as his staff doesn't have to fight the insurance company for it for it
Why would you think that? If the bill says $120, you're on the hook for $120 w/o insurance. Plus, my last doctor was a lady woman.

“People generally fall into an economic class because of their psychology and their values. Each of the three classes has a characteristic psychological profile. For the lower class, it’s apathy. They have nothing, they’re ground down and they don’t really care. They’re not in the game, and they aren’t going to do anything; they’re resigned to their fate. For the upper class, it’s greed and arrogance. They have everything, and they think they deserve it – whether they do or not. The middle class – at least in today’s world – is run by fear. Fear that they’re only a paycheck away from falling into the lower class. Fear that they can’t pay their debts or borrow more. Fear that they don’t have a realistic prospect of improving themselves.”
~ Doug Casey
As usual, Pope George Carlin sums it up nicelyI would, however, argue that one's psychology derives from the class they find themselves in, not the other way around. That's the kind of victim-blaming, bootstrap-pulling BS status quo warriors like to spout to justify why people should starve while they buy their 3rd yacht. Because they clearly deserve it because of all their hard work! and a small loan of 1 million dollars

Who would read a factual piece unless they get a little dopamine out of it? Also, you know lazy Americans, if you have to take care of one extra patient or work one extra hour, that is considered being overwhelmed. Got to get home to the Cheetos and ice cream.

On the flipside, I've had to write collections letters to specialty drug patients whose insurance lapsed for $60,000.

I haven't been turned down yet, though the discount varies. This is in a major West coast city, not out in the sticks. It is a metric fuckton less paperwork and hassle for them to just get paid now. If you are, as I guess most observers are, a "pay as you go" type of person it never hurts to ask.

Grotesque price gouging.

which ones? Big pharma? Media (propaganda brainwashing)? Global banking?
Read somewhere the whole thing was kicked off when China took delivery of a sanction-violating shipment of oil from Iran ... Israel-US bloc delivers the bioweapon to Iran-China in retaliation, kills the Iranian General 'mastermind' in a drone strike, Saudis go apeshit dumping oil on Russia and USA ... I noticed Russia and Israel shut their borders down way before anyone else ... kinda like they knew it was the good stuff.
Could just be all a mad conspiracy but it does look a lot like a free-for-all and the fragile peace is all but over. Choose your sides wisely I guess.
That's literally me atm. Watching BTC charts.... grow babe grow BTC

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Thank you Theymos for developing a "miracle" wonder drug cure for those of us infected with the BCTvid-19 virus. I'm breathing much better today. Even took off my N95 (thanks Homer).
Bitcoin seems to be happy for us too. It's shot up over $7.2k... currently $7215USD/$10140CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
It's about time. Go Bitcoin go.
