Hi WO! There may be a good bullish move.

Quote
“BTC HTF UPDATE: MARKET IS LOOKING REALLY STRONG IN MY OPINION, BUT FOR FULL TRANSPARENCY THIS $9600 LEVEL HAS TO BE FLIPPED ON THE WEEKLY CLOSE IF WE REALLY WANT TO CONTINUE HIGHER…”

Quote
The range he references exists between $9,100 and $9,450. It does appear that buyers are ardently defending against a dip back into this channel.

This could be a good sign as its being some time now before we see the bitcoin prices above 9600$. Mostly it has being below 9500 only and in last 2 days it has just moved above 9500$ mark. But this move should be more resistant and move towards 10k range as its being not able to support above that price levels and then falls back again to 9500 or so.

OK, we all understand jbear's belief: big blocks is better and will some day not only flip BTC but rule the world. He's been wrong every day of every year since July 2017, and will likely continue to be wrong indefinitely, but if he wants to hold out irrational hope as as shitcoiners are wont to do, we shouldn't crush his dreams any further. After all, most of us have our secret shitcoin fantasies that we just aren't as ready to divulge in this thread.

Having said that,

Accordingly, thank god for the big block chains.

Sorry to break it to you but however unfortunately you're the only one around here who sees Roger Ver or Craig Wright as "god".  Cheesy

Except, Araoz wasn’t the one writing the blog. He hasn’t posted anything on bitcointalk.org’s forums for years —  and has nothing against its users. It was GPT-3 the whole time, he said...The bot’s predicted sentences were used for posts on the bitcointalk.org forum in recent days, leading to ‘positive’ feedback concluding “the system must have been intelligent".

... And now you opened another flank for JB to counter that he never said that either Roger Ver or CSW were "god", that he was just using a common expression, that maybe he doesn't even believe in "god" more than he does in big blocks, etc etc....

decentralization = ONE (ok manybe a few) datacenter that has the capacity to process this BSV nearly infinate size (at some point) gigabigabloatware data where everything including the kitchen sink and toilet plus the contents of those that goes down it and is stored on chain? i guess always wanted to know the exact composition of my septic tank contents. a "decentralized" blockchain that only huge AWS instances or other supercomputers and the likes likes can run?

No. But nice mischaracterization. At this point, there are plenty of 'normal' computers processing the BSV blockchain.

sure, now. im talking years out (if it doesnt die off in the meantime)

AFAIC, as long as there are no exclusionary barriers for new entrants to participate, then non-mining validation is exactly as decentralized as it need be. More such 'decentralization' is a red herring that serves no useful purpose. I realize this is a controversial perspective, but it is the one I hold.

just the money constraint at some point as it will ever cost more as time marches on.  perhaps youre so flush that 100+ grand for a datacenter and update cycle that will be needed eventually is a barely noticeable expense to you for the convenience and security. so say, for the average mook a 50 grand minimal setup (not now im talking later if this ttakes off and actually stores  useful data) for a casual setup that maybe that would last a couple years? so whats the upper limit for "just verifying" my transactions?

The alternative is to dumb down the entire system to 3 to 7 transactions per second. The notion of such a system working as world money is so ludicrous that it beggars the imagination that anyone would so think.

i agree here. work is needed. it is being done. i may not agree with some of it but stuff is happening regardless.

CSW during his interview (an hour and half plus of non-sensical drivel) was asked what he thinks of all the OG coiners in the space since 2009.
He mentions about a 'maxwell' but not sure if it is the same gmaxwell whos on these forums or not. Undecided

He certainly thinks he is god of something with his answers at the end of the interview.
You can skip to the final 12 minutes of the main video linked in the post so to save you 90+ odd minutes of your time. Wink
Valuetainment had reached out to interview Dr. Feelgood of Bitcoin: Craig S Wright! Cool
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JvDauIX5lg

They had to do it after their recent interview with Max Keiser last month with him straight out saying infront of the camera that Craig Wright is definitely not Satoshi... he isnt smart enough to be him. Cheesy
With 5290 views released 3 hours ago, this is getting more views due to the twitter hack on most of the major bitcoin OG accounts out there.

CB is lol rn. If this low volume breaks their x286 server, imagine during a massive bull run with 10x volume. I can remember at least 10 cases, when this happened before. One of the cases was last year's high, when CB crashed resulting in sells executing 10% lower than the current price. Now similar thing happened in buy orders way above the market price. They aren't visible on the chart but I saw them by chance. I remember also a moment when CB mistakenly provided various derivative exchanges with a price several thousands lower than the actual price. This lead to shutting down of the servers of these exchanges for the day. I am really amused by the ignorance of these guys.

Well Roger Ver was dubbed Bitcoin Jesus at one point, so that's pretty close. He swears he didn't come up with the nickname himself, but I don't think he minds it.

It starts off with yours truly Roger Ver talking about transactions and thought it was going to be all about kissing up to bitcoin jesus himself but then was gladly corrected when they mention about his past in dealing with cryptocurrencies. Along with him selling illegal fireworks then serving jail time for it.
So it wasn't a one sided documentary to my surprise. Wink

Can you just give me a time on the video where he explains the story? I'd rather not have to watch the whole thing.

This was the version I was familiar with:

Quote
“I believe Peter Vessenes [chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation] gave me the title when we were at a BBQ together. I was explaining bitcoin to about two dozen high school kids. The kids were all enthralled by bitcoin, and hanging on my every word,” he told CNBC.
