Yet he is talking about BTC in the interview and this was before he created his own version of it with BCH craptopia.
VPro documentary: 2015
Bitcoin cash is a cryptocurrency created in August 2017, from a fork of Bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash increases the size of blocks, allowing more transactions to be processed. The cryptocurrency underwent another fork in November 2018 and split into Bitcoin Cash ABC and Bitcoin Cash SV (Satoshi Vision).

Watch the video at 47:00 you will get a good laugh from the above screen of this docu.  Grin

Both Roger Ver and Tone Vays are Bitcoin OGs. You can dismiss them if you like but you can't take away they were early adoptors and have thousands of eyeballs viewing of what they have to say.
Even if these viewers are newbies in the space.

and a clinical inability to respond to simple questions or respond with a straight forward simple answer.

What the hell are you on about? Looking back three pages, you have addressed exactly zero questions to me, let alone ones unanswered. Unless you're confusing yourself with some sock.

The hell I am on about is you JB. You argue, you deflect, you seem disingenuous in your statements from time to time so one has to carefully parse what you write and post in a thread that has nothing to do with your preferred narrative.

For example..there are pages back where you argue over the definition of decentralisation that any cypherpunk worth his/her/its salt knows down to their bones. That it is a safer, more secure system than the centralised entities that make up the legacy financial system and to a certain extent, the bitcoin ecosystem. I am not going to waste yours or my time going back to find quotes..you know what I am talking about..or at least I hope you do.

I think I have made it very clear this thread is not a echo chamber..and there are times when I appreciate your postings..they make you actually think about things which in my mind is a good thing. Its the style you go about it that I have a problem with. Some archaic code of honor or other such bullshit flares up every now and then when reading the tap dance you seem to enjoy deploying in this thread.

As far as the sock thing goes...just lol. No socks here..just the same thread bare and heavily used one I have worn since I crawled up out of the cesspool of shitcoins and scammers that seems to make up the majority of this forum. At times I feel like a shuttlecock in some strange game of three sided badminton, trying to find safety somewhere in the middle to little avail. Be that as it may, I believe that small blocks and third layer solutions is a better way than a bloated big block chain.

We are comfortable with different trade offs.  I think a distributed system with the least amount of trust possible is worth more than you do.

Well, no. I think that placing your trust in the lowest common denominator is trust misplaced.

Further, I am not looking for a system 'governed by the technocratic elite', I am looking for a system with enough capacity to be money for the entire world. And 3-7 tx/s just ain't gonna cut it.

OK.  So how many transactions per second do you think is the minimum we should aim for?

5 doesn't scale... neither does 100.

How about 1 transaction per day for half of the people alive as a starting point?  (Still waaaay too small really)

That's (I am guessing) about 40k/sec.  Which would be what? 40Gbish blocks?

So Google and, Amazon and a handful of world governments will be who we trust to keep the blockchain??

It seems to me scaling the blockchain by making it bigger and keeping it safe from control and collusion is impossible.

Hmmm. So it would seem that your claim is that it is impossible for BTC to be the default monetary system for the world.

Allow me to disagree. I mean, it _could_, should it not be intentionally crippled. Accordingly, thank god for the big block chains.

That is not at all what I am saying.  What I am saying is we are going to have to scale it to make it be that.  Either it scales in layers with the BTC blockchain being the settlement layer, or we up the block size ala BSV.

What I am saying is when we do it the latter way it is going to be the realm of the super powerful to keep up with it enough to run nodes... and we coalesce into a system worse than the current one.

In other news this morning...

Bitcoin continues to show heavy correlation with the stonk market and specifically the S&P500. The Dow, S&P500 and Bitcoin are all down today near 1%. Ethereum is surprisingly up today and seems to be attempting to break correlation between bitcoin and the stonk markets...interesting imo.

Gold breaks $1.9k and seems to be intent on breaking its ATH. Silver is also up significantly, trading above $22 today.

1984 has arrived at Seattle today and apparently other major US cities.

Probably wont be wearing badges or nameplates but will potentially be carrying shields stating they are police.

Covid-19 cases continue to rise in the US and around the world. People...please wear a mask when your out in public and especially in enclosed spaces such are stores. It makes a difference.
This guy does some good videos on it..I recommend watching it if you are on the borderline as to what is effective or not with mask usage.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npXP5wqNzaI

Over 4 million cases are now being reported in the US, a jump from 3 million to 4 million in the last 15 days...

Washington State among others also continues to see the number of cases rising.

Stay safe out there people...stay strong in heart and mind. We will get through this.

Peace

Sounds nice, and thanks for posting. I'm left wondering, however, what are the implications and why is this important?
It could be good and bad for bitcoin.
Depending on where you live.

Legal consequences.
What is the definition of "trading service"?
A node, an exchange, a bank?
Since banks are allowed to trade bitcoin for customers, worst case would be that only licensed businesses are allowed to sell/keep/buy bitcoin, i guess.
While this is restricted to the US, on the other hand, so not "another ending of bitcoin" in any way.

Yeah, and that, of course.
