Congratulations to all of our This Is Gentlemen Official Wall Observer Coloring In Competition competitors.

The competition was extremely tough but one clear winner emerged chosen by the people.  Congratulations to Krubster!  Please feel free to tell all your friends, family and distant relations.

Thank you, I'm honoured. My parents will be so proud of me when they will find out about this.

^ looks like an IBM XT (with 8086 or 8088) with removed or photoshopped logo. Good old times and burnt in monitors...

EDIT: 5.25" 360KB (iirc) Floppy disks were standard. You could cut/punch out the write-enable tab at the other side and turn em around (vertical flip) and use em double-sided. Just like the old 8" dinosaurs, but a little more handy and soo above punch cards and tape reels back then.

I had a very similar-looking Siemens Nixdorf XT 088 with a monochrome monitor (black and amber?orange?) and a dot matrix printer  Grin these floppies had to be handled very carefully and didn't last long anyway  Grin

wow, elwar made it to one of the most reputable german newspapers! (only in german)

here is a quote:

Quote

you are the man, elwar! the entire article is way more friendly/neutral than some of the reactions in bitcointalk. i am impressed. ms satoshi story is also covered.

I am amused that we have made a new ATH of $29,700 and no one seems to have noticed.  Including myself.

I think there are a few people that now have made serious $ or should I say serious Maybe 100+ coins

They may have decided to back off on posting like mad.

I think there are some in the 10-50 coin in holdings that now are Maybe I should shut up as my 290k to 1450k could get me hurt.

So posters with 0.5-10 coins may still be posting a lot. As they really need BTC to move to 100k or more

before they think they have decent money.

Elwar surely has some HUGE balls! He's sort of a public figure and everybody knows where he lives etc... frankly, don't want to sound cynical but I'm surprised he's still alive and well and nobody has tried to extort his coins yet  Lips sealed  So seems like many WO-ers overestimate the importance of opsec.  Grin Or maybe not...

The thing is that "decent money" is very subjective. And while somebody's goal is $1m there are peeps who have that amount in fiat and its a not big deal for them. So they're just waiting until their 50 coins will cost say $25m... that would be a life-changing money for them...

OpSec is more a risk management of possible future events. (not only unlawful ones)
It's much harder when you're having a business, especially one associated with bitcoin...

ATH for 🐜

↑ What is that a llama for ants?

I woke up to the new ATH but by the time I had made a cup of espresso, it was back down to $29,350 so I decided to wait for 30k to celebrate.

see, I've been generating 30k addresses.

Eh. I've been enjoying New Year's (thank fucking God 2020 is over) but at the same time I'm really just in awe of what's going on. I'm sure it will pop at some point but truth be told I don't need any fiat right now so no need to screw with the bitcoin stash.

But yeah, it's a good thing to remember that if it goes to 100k I'll probably feel the same way.

I don't like saying, "I told you so" but I did mention it in my morning greeting.

I realize nobody actually reads it but it's a good way to keep my post count up.  Cheesy
