I had another chat with my friend, the gal who likes to discuss savings/stock market with me. Classical weak hands type.

-snip-

At the end she said "Oh thank you. But you know, call me chicken but I won't."

I'm pretty sure she'll come around. She'll probably want some at 50k. What could I reply to that?

"Of course you're free to do as you please. Bitcoiners say 'Have fun staying poor' "

I'm not trying to convert nocoiners to bitcoiners anymore: tried many times but failed. Most of them ignored me, some bought BCH and sold it later. I'm not trying to save your soul anymore, you should get it yourself. Fuck off, you don't deserve it...  Grin

You're probably right. I, too, have long forgone any evangelism. But this chick does care about her financial future, we've been talking money and stocks for a long time, she seemed so helpless... well, I failed and told her.

I'll be sure to poke her some more at 100k. She does deserve it if she doesn't get any btc and clings to her losing strategy of buying stocks and selling at the first dip wondering why she didn't pick the "really magic stock".

Nahh... Peter's doing it undercover, trying not to move the market or be caught with his hands in the cookie jar Wink

When we dumped to 16 before breaking 20 I told my mom “this is your last chance”
She finally bought a little mid 16..
Then started to get excited watching it go up and bought some more mid 19..
Then a bit more in the early 20s somewhere..
She is up about 66%..

My first nocoiner convert..
Damn I’m glad I was right..

Sent my GF $10 worth long time ago (0.0006), did cashapp ref invites for her and Coinbase quizzes for her.. She bought $10..
Has over $100 now..
She won’t be able to “invest” but she caught the bug too..

It doesn't seem so far. We only need a 6% increase from where we are now. It could happen in a day or so but we are already up 12%. These moments pay for all the boring ones during the past years.

Shit I have a bad feeling about this. It's going too fast. Somebody sold 1000 coins at 31k. He must be crying right now  Cheesy that would have been 2 more millions now.

My policy is : let people know you're into BTC, by that I mean the right people you can trust won't try to steal your coins, provide info if they're interested, but don't push it, and give plenty of disclaimers. Don't want to be deemed responsible if the price crashes...

My brother is in finance and I don't ask him advice on investments because he's my brother, I don't want to have any bad feelings towards him if an investment doesn't pan out. Especially since what he's touting (I asked him once) are pretty risky stuff that go up and down wildly, a bit like BTC.

Guys.. Haven’t you been in crypto very long?
This is what crypto does..

Yeah it’ll probably retrace, but the important part is that it cleared the books/cleared a path to where it is now..
The higher the path it clears the better.. I hope it spikes and clears the books to infinity even if it dumps back to 25k..

Wipes all those old sell orders out of the books, so if/when it goes back down, it only needs to break the NEW orders to get back there..

How many new sell orders are happening vs buys? Upward buying pressure?
We are good dudes calm down..

I finally got my family to invest at around $7k. Even my 80 year old mom bought at $9k.

Today I told them that the next step for them is to put in a limit order at a higher price that they think it may reach and only sell half. I told them it could jump to $100k but that it would only happen for a minute and they'd likely be out driving or doing something else to catch the top in time.

My sister figured out a limit order.

I talked my brother through converting his sons' private keys into a wallet after I sent them one BTC as a gift back in 2015 and told him it could pay for their college one day. He said he didn't believe me until today.

I usually send the n00bs to Coinbase. No harm in them losing their $200 investment to a Coinbase hack. The key is them learning how Bitcoin works.

I'll probably sell up to enough to not go above a certain capital gains tax bracket to get me through another 4 years of spending money.

The fact that they printed 37% of all dollars in the past year, if you're not up 37% over the past year you lost money. I can think of nothing other than Bitcoin to have as an investment as we go into the "Great Reset" where "you will own nothing and love it".

What I think currently is happening is, computer nerd early adopter whales giving their long holded coins away to the real sharks. If Wall Street and Co. holds a big part of Bitcoin, it will become just another currency that is controlled by the richest of the world.

Rick and I just got back from getting coffee and running a couple errands. Rick looks over at one of our tickers upon return to the house and is all like...

Rick: "HOLY SHIT ! It's over $32k man. You just made another 7 digits while we were out!"
Me: "OK. You want me to sell some more or something ?"
Rick: "Hell no. LET IT RIDE !!!"
Me: "OK." (Makes self a greyhound and continues to observe the wall)

Another thing is..
The actual market cap is nowhere near the same as mined coins.. Their are TONS of lost forever coins..
Satoshi coins.. Cryptsy coins.. And on and on..

Therefore, it’s much easier to go up than what the math based on mined coins Market cap states..

Bigger than visa or Berkshire Hathaway?
Sound cool, but actually probably not..

How many coins in circulation have been moved in the last 4 years? + 10%..
That’s probably closer to the actual market cap..

$650k to equal the cap of gold?
Probably more like $1mm ea to equal the cap of gold..
