The amounts that got sold in the last couple days are alarming. Do they know what we dont yet? Cant decide to sell or wait. I mean only the small amount I bought at 21k and 26k Euro. Have a feeling we go down to hell soon...

I don't think so, up to heaven and soon is more likely, cos there's been more buying than selling on this leg up - so far.
That goes for around the current top-off price level as well (referring to Bitstamp of course).

relax.
i dont get "selling" btc. you want to trade btc? most professsional traders lose. almost all retail traders lose. bitcoin is longterm savings get rich slow tech. dont trade the best performing asset ever. if you bought and price dips below your entry, be thankful for the opportunity to buy more and lower your entry price.  

when trading you are trying to outperform traders that are:

-smarter
-more experienced
-with waaayyyy deeper pockets
-who are well connected
-and ruthless
-better informed

If you earn btc via mining or via signature .  Selling long upticks is a must thing to do.

That won't work in a 2018-scenario where the price keeps dropping, so I can't do this. I am taxed on the value at the moment I earn anything, so the tax amount gets fixed to that price, while the future value is uncertain. That's okay when the price is low, but at current prices, I can't risk being taxed a high amount if the price drops a lot.
It would be a great thing to do when prices go up: earn x euro, pay tax on x euro, and sell it when the value is much higher. Capital gains aren't taxed here (but losses aren't tax deductible either).

You're saying you're taxed on BTC earnings, is that right ? If so, then sell the BTC amount that will pay the tax at that same moment you get it. I'm already hating paying capital gains taxes (that has been lowered to 30%, it used to be more than 50%), but paying taxes on a value that is no longer there would be terrible.

I think I was lucky. I sold some bitcoin when we passed the 20k mark and then I sold some more at around 34k. Not selling anything else until we get to $50k. No matter if we stay in a bear market for years. If that is the case, I'll keep accumulating.

Nice.  Bought a little bit at $29.2k.  Daily RSI starting to look much more healthy.  We were over the Daily RSI 2017 peak for awhile which was making me uncomfortable.

What I have done and will continue to do is only sell part of it when it reaches certain milestones. So I will always be invested in bitcoin.

That way you enjoy part of the profit while keeping the buying power in bitcoin, or you increase it even if the price keeps going up despite selling.

Although it is obvious that if you don't sell anything at all it will be more profitable

Nice healthy correction has been on the cards for a while now, we've dropped the weekly RSI to less than 80 from the 93+ we had last week which is good

Still alive, thanks so much to everyone for your replies and merits. Good advices given that will help me get through this.

You don't fully realise the seriousness of COVID-19 until you get it. I still don't actually know if what I have is COVID-19, but symptoms point to that direction... Should do a test to find out. Until now I'm confined at home with zero contact with others.

Now on day 4 from onset of symptoms. By day 5-6, and if things get serious, I should be getting shortness of breath, at which point I should be admitted to hospital. If this does not happen, then it may be possible to fight this at home on my own. I hope so.

Please be very careful.
I had covid in the family and while we were looking after him the rest of the family were at risk. Family member died in hospital after a long struggle. He was in ICU and everything was done to cure him. He died on 24th November. After 3 weeks we all had chest X-ray and inaction were visible in the film. We are under treatment but thank god that we decided to have this X-ray. Family doctor suggested it actually.

No one in the family have sever condition but we are in medication and hoping the infection will be clean soon.

Please stay alert all the time. It's a disease not to be afraid of but to be alert and have awareness about it. Have vitamin C type foods, foods with Zinc. Also keep your body active.

Watch for lung damage.  My wife and I got Sick  Dec 31 2019 I shook it by Jan 31 2020.  She developed 2x pneumonia was hospitalized in Mid Jan 2020. She finally shook the infection in early march. Say 65 days.  But she has lung damage.  We have been trading her for it (damaged lungs for 10 months). She was hospitalized in OCT for a procedure to help the lung issues.

And finally she is improving with breathing.  Her O2 was as low as 87.

We had 115K in medical bills for her last year.  Lucky for insurance we paid about 6k of that. A lot better than 115k

2020 was a mother fucker of a year for us.

If you go for lung rehab do it after doctor approval. Make sure infections are gone.

Luckily none of us has any problem with oxygen level yet. The Oximeter has always reading equal and above 99. We have the device even before the family member got sick.

It was unfortunate with the dead member. Even though we had the device, and he had a some temperature - we never thought that it could be corona. He did not tell us that he had fever until one day he felt very sick and could not stand. Then wife checked the oxygen level and saw it dropped to 92. That day we realised something wrong and immediately we managed oxygen at home. Consulted with the doctor, and they said to admit him in the hospital. The Next day we took him to the hospital. And after two days they took him to the ICU and after four days in ICU he died eventually. Everything was too quick that we still can not believe it happened to us. His lung was 71% damaged because of post covid pneumonia.

If he told us that he had this fever then we could have a different situation in the family.

Sorry to hear your story by the way. Lucky you that you had medical insurance but most of all your wife is better now. I hope 2021 will be a better year, and we live a worry-less life.

It's head to have covid infection and harder to have a family member who have covid. You can't just leave them alone when they need you. Take care you all Wall Observer guys.

Well, this correction is still under 20% from the ATH I think, which is absolutely normal. I am glad that I unloaded my mined 3-year-eth bag this morning at 0.035BTC. For me eth is only a tool to mine BTC with gpus, which has a huge advantage compared to asic mining for my situation. I have no other interest in that shitcoin or any other.  Normally, I would immediately convert the mined coins to BTC, but in the previous 3 years, I was mining on break even or with a small loss when the prices fell to 0.016BTC. Now it all turned to a huge profit.

Back above 30k -- we all kinda wanted some dump to see how price would hold and so far price has held really well.  This is going to provide some solid confidence and up we go.   [Warning Alt Mention, skip ahead] ETH didn't even move (still above 900) --  Anyone trying to say "Glad I sold!" will just be eating those words when they pay tax and buy back less coins in a panic.

Yesterday i sold ETH mining profits at $820 before the rise to $1000, then stood in usdt (10k  ) for awhile. Hours later i bought BTC at $34k.

As a trader, i'm a good miner.

But today i had a degenerate buy order @$28200 which executed like a pro. (Fiat funds came from a stupid sell i did last month   )
I felt like crap all this month having that fiat. Weird feelings when you held coins for years..


tldr:
-Dont trade, its gambling.
-BTC hodling is an addiction.
