WO is not really the place to be discussing this, but for those abstaining from eating meat (vegetarians, vegans, etc.) for ethical reasons (i.e., being against cruelty to animals), please understand that our very existence and way of life in this world is based on violence and causes violence by natural necessity. To really stop causing violence, one must commit suicide. It is of no coincidence that in certain languages, the word "life" is exactly the same as the word "violence". It's a cause and effect thing. We cannot escape it. This is part of the tragedy of our existence.
Having said the above, I fully understand OOM's stance on this. I once watched a YouTube video (now banned) of slaughtering a cow in a slaughterhouse in former East-Germany, and I literally threw up. I would probably feel and do the same as OOM, if I was forced to slaughter an animal with my own hands before eating it. This is just our brains trying to deal with an act that seems so incompatible with our ethical values. Is this what we do to animals? Yes, it is! And many more, unspeakable acts of violence, that we do to animals and fellow humans, to sustain our existence and way of life. Violence that society/civilization carefully shields us from. It's kind of like unplugging yourself from The Matrix and seeing reality in its truly raw form.
Off topic: The meat convo I can understand from two sides. It can look exceptionally cruel as most of slaughtering is indeed hidden from view now and we can empathise easily with suffering to the extent the meat industry looks like some type of modern day holocaust. (To Kathleen Kennedy, no I don't have a part in a Star Wars tv show, so you can't cancel me out of my job for that comparison) One cannot however forget that we exist here because a bunch of big lizards happened to go existent due to a by chance series of events and for most of human's evolution we ate meat to become who and where we are today. Furthermore even without the meat industry we would have to probably still cull animals to a certain extent to ensure their population balance I would have thought. Also how animals eat each other, although more necessary than what humans need now I assume, looks even more vicious. I'd rather take a bullet to my brain than something starts chewing on me and throwing me about whilst I'm still alive. Oh and also I like a Big Mac from time to time like I stated above. Sorry. Will we go fully synthetic meat in the future? I don't know but trying to force the matter right now down people's throats is never going to happen without resistance. The world is far bigger than the few people in the west offended by practices that have been in place for thousands of years.

So this is the very first approved ETF of BTC since the SEC has no control outside of the USA? Well isn't that special. Is the term AUM that I see along with this news the trading of the this new offering on the TSX? This should shake up the markets once we get over this dry spell we're are currently in.

Seriously though, I think we can safely assume that this is not going to happen that somebody intentionally sends you 5m USD without you knowing why or having no idea about the reason for the transfer.
If that ever happened (assuming a very bad error on the senders side), after digging a bit through BEs (as dabs proposed) and listening around here and on twitter, I would probably come to bct and post it here, trusting the guy having fat-fingered 100BTC to me would get to know somehow. If he can sign from the sending address I'd ask an appropriate finder reward (which I'd see at 5-10% according to local law and use here).
You could always just send it back to the sending address. No proofs needed. You're right, the signing is not really needed at all.

As someone once said, veganism is a mental disorder. I did not say it, just quoting someone else. (shots fired!)
Plenty of my own family members are either vegans or vegetarians, or were, or tried it. I let them be.
Those who got hypnotized out of it are exempted, it's not your fault.
I think the more appropriate joke is: I'm a budgetarian ... If it's within the budget, I'll eat it.

To me veganism is more spiritual and phycological, nothing to do with health. https://www.psypost.org/2020/05/meat-eaters-tend-to-have-better-psychological-health-than-vegetarians-56698

Good morning Bitcoinland. Slowly bouncing back after this morning's dip... currently $48052USD/$60834CAD (Bitcoinaverage). Coiling. Go Bitcoin go. As someone once said, veganism is a mental disorder. I did not say it, just quoting someone else. (shots fired!)
I think of it more as a neurosis-based eating disorder, kinda like anorexia nervosa... "oh no, I weight over 95 pounds, I'd better starve myself"... "oh poor little Bambi, I'd better subject myself to vitamin B12 deficiency." Notice how they never seem to worry about the poor little soybeans and other seeds that are murdered before they even have a chance to germinate? If plants have no feelings, why do they respond and grow better with soothing jazz and classical music than with jarring rock, hiphop or EDM? Hypocrites. (more shots fired!)

Tony Stark would not approve of this sort of attitude against his unfinished iron man bots which were shown at the beginning of Age of Ultron. No wonder in all futurism movies the robots attack their creators. https://imgur.com/a/ntEPbdJWhy don't they throw a jar of acid on its face and call it a day.

I think plants are actually sentient. Plus, collectively, they live the longest of most living things. Thousands of years old. Plants are also "decentralized". They don't have brains or a head because predators such as deer or a lawn mower can just chop it off. Some weeds can also do complex arithmetic to prevent starvation at night (because no sunlight) so they calculate how much starch they need with 95% accuracy before dawn, so they have enough to last until the sun rises. Plants can also "see" us via photoreceptors that perceive different wavelengths of light. They are aware of when we come near them and whether we're wearing a blue or red shirt. Perhaps your crazy aunt that sings to her plants and way-out-there blog writers who report news about talking trees are on to something after all. Just imagine if plants can be hodlers.. They'll hold corns for a very long time.

Did I mention that GBTC went completely out of sync from btc? Quite a discount. What a shit-stock. I am reasonably sure Cathie is selling GBTC to bolster her declining empire (ARK) in other areas. GBTC is a sell while BTCC is a buy in ret accounts, looks this way.

I didn't get any GBTC. I have some QBTC. Will probably sell them all and get BTCC instead. These are in my registered accounts, and the only way to have exposure to bitcoin in them for now.
