Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

My calculations show that the correction from 58 400 to 43 000 is 26.3%. This doesn't even qualify for a significant 30%+ correction!

I can't speak for any of the hodlers outside the U.S., but this exactly is why we U.S.-based hodlers continue to just hodl. Here we have to pay 20% long term cap gains tax on btc we sell over a certain amount. So in order to gain any real benefit from trying to sell a top only to buy back lower, the price would have to move at least -30% or more to even see a +10% buyback gain in your btc amount. You'd have to call the top perfectly. And, you would have to time your sell at the very top (impossible) along with your buyback at the very bottom (again, impossible) perfectly.

Good luck with that. Chances are, you are going to lose all your gains to the IRS trying to play that game.

Easier to just buy and hodl for years and years, and only sell what amount you need, when you need it.

A "racket" is a dishonest or deceptive, moneymaking scheme and that was the first thing that came to mind when I heard the name Rakuten.  Yeah I know it's a Japanese word but I think it wasn't well though out for a global marketplace and even if they are accepting bitcoin, I'm taking a pass.  It reminds me of Sam&Ella's Chicken Palace and likewise, if they begin accepting bitcoin, I'm not going there.

It used to be buy.com and then got bought out by a billionaire and renamed in his image (a braindead move in my estimation), I believe. I used to use it a lot but it seemed to be less good after the buyout.

Note that you can't buy directly but have to buy their currency. Though this probably works out somewhat with Bitcoin's high fees and unreliable confirmation times.

Over here in the UK I used to use Play.com before it was bought out / removed by Rakuten. It was a nice Amazon alternative for years for DVDs, cds and games, very functional and clear website, unlike the mayhem amount of irrelevant product info on the average Amazon product listing. Chancellor David Osbourne closed the Jersey tax loop hole about 10 years ago so that stuffed Play.com out of existence. Politicians still happy to fund Amazon's infrastructure for free around the UK so that they can provide us with terrible jobs.

I didn't know what the fuck was going on when suddenly the Play.com website talked about Rakuten. It was a great domain name for gadgetery at the time too.

Surely, currently, within striking distance.. though it did move somewhat quickly up from a $46k-ish base and up to mid-$49ks.. and to be hovering within $1k or so of possibly getting to, and maybe above $50k... .. I hardly have any predictions this time around, as the first time around I did consider that we would move fairly quickly into the $58.5k to $62k arena.. and maybe this time around mind be considered as the same pattern... perhaps?  In the whole scheme of things, and if we end up zooming out, our correction down to $43k-ish might be largely considered as noise (is "noise" another way of saying coiling?)?  Perhaps?  perhaps?

I'm pretty sure rat poison has been keeping my dad from having a stroke for several years now.

Funny thing is Warren's Berkshire Hathaway owns 33 million shares of Bristol Myers Squibb which is the maker of Coumadin (a blood thinner) which is the brand name for its version of warfarin which is rat poison yet he doesn't want any bitcoin because it is - in his words - rat poison squared.  With BMY making up a little over 0.75% of their holdings, I guess Berkshire Hathaway doesn't have any room in its portfolio for the more profitable version of rat poison.  He's almost correct but the "squared" part is an underestimation, if BMY=rat poison then bitcoin would be (rat poison)n where n ≫ 2.  BMY has only risen from about $20 in 2009 to about $62 today.

Feels as if we are ready to test new highs. I’m calling new ATH within 2 weeks, who’s with me? Beers are exhausted, we’re within touching distance of $50,000. The correction to $43,300 is already greatly recovered, weak hands are shaken & it’s time to restart the pump engine.
