This space elevator discussion is very interesting. And it fits well within the Bitcoin WO topic.
See, all WOers are already aboard Elon's rocket and cruising through space tasting White Russians (not just the beverage). But, something has to be done for the nocoiners and the mindrusters down there. I don't see any other option for them, but a space elevator. OK, they won't be able to ever reach us, but going past geostationary orbit sure is better than nothing.
Now, kneel down and pray to Karhu, nocoiners, that Elon is going to build that damned elevator soon, or you're going to end up sitting your asses on Earth, watching our $1M WO party in 8K streaming and wondering "what if I HeDL?"

Personal dilemma because I'm afraid of heights but I can stand new bitcoin ATHs. Will I be able to get onboard the elevator? That is the problem. Or maybe I should avoid too much coffee in the morning.

$48k (40k €) is pretty much established.
2017's ATH was $20k (17k €). That's 2.4x in just over 3 years, and with a severe Bitcoin winter in between. Try to name any other investment that would have given you this much profit.
For Bitcoin to equal the yield of a normal bank savings account with 2% annual interest rate (rare these days) in the period between the ATH of 2017 (buying the top) and now, Bitcoin price would have to drop to just over $22k (18k €).
The above assumes one has "bought the top", right at the ATH of 2017 ("worst" point to buy ever in Bitcoin's history up to that point). Any other time would result in higher gains, orders of magnitude higher in the vast majority of cases. Banks/stonks don't stand a chance.
Just let this sink in.
Onwards & upwards.
HoDL.
Edit: Added paragraph, made statements stronger/clearer.

Good Morning Bitcoinland. Sideways 'r' us... currently $47580USD/$60209CAD (Bitcoinaverage). Ho hum. More coffee or back to bed? Thats not a FIAT, it's an ABARTH. (at least the logo)
Ugh. Right you are. Search lied to me and I picked it cause it was the most photogenic. since abarth was bought by fiat in 1971, you were not really wrong. dirty fiat is dirty fiat. I see what you did there. "Dirty Fiat" was the reason I merited Richy in the first place. Fiat 500. You add the adjective.

Yeah, especially the one in the blue top seems to be doing it "her own way", like she's waiting for something important... She even has her shoes ready, to run to the nearest HoDLer once Bitcoin reaches $100k. Nice.

We think a lot about those black lines, forgetting that it’s all still in our hands.
Meta: Sometimes, forcibly closing or avoiding many of those black lines in the past can be a good thing. Can only really appreciate or regret it in retrospect.

Speaking of something completely and utterly unrelated to the bitcoin price >ahem< 1.9 trillion "Stimulus" bill just passed. At the current price, you could buy 39.3 million Bitcoins with that.
