Oh bloody hell, stop going down will you.
Every time i look at the daily chart, it starts trending down . The solution..never look at daily, so I either glance at CMC a couple times a day for a snapshot and/or look at weekly/monthly. What does the profit on GPU mining look like at the moment? Any hopes it will calm down soon? I just want to get an upgrade so I can play Cyberpunk decently.

Chip shortage until 2022. Best I can find available around here since Early January is the 1660 Super but I doubt that would give you a great Cyberpunk experience.

bit of a fat finger or somthing on bitstamp. I missed seeing it live but chart looks interesting.
It looks like some guy market bought by mistake 150 BTC, then realizing his 'mistake' he market sold incurring a loss of appr. $300K. And that's in essence how the daily trading works Looks exactly like that, pretty odd. Sometimes it can be quite difficult to really know with any kind of certainty, and surely instead of a fat thumb, it could have been a pumpening attempt that failed.., but I agree that the fat thumb explanation does seem to be more likely of a scenario because such a thing does happen from time to time and sometimes is later admitted to or described as a factual scenario surrounding "large" price movements that more frequently happen on less liquid exchanges... but also sometimes happen on more influential and liquid exchanges, too. when i worked back around 2011 on i told people at work about bitcoin. ......
.... but then again maybe not. bitcoin was too important not to spread the word.
This is a good point, vapourminer. No matter the circumstances, there is a balancing that is needed to be considered, and in some sense, some of us might feel some kinds of obligations to have had spread the word, whether we are talking about 2011, some later date, or even now, and all of a sudden because we may have become rich as fuck or relatively richer than some of our neighbors because we move above and beyond ramen, we still might have some balancing obligations (surely, personal discretion in terms of how much of any kind of obligation that might be felt) in terms of sharing with others but maybe not getting too caught up into personal details. I continue to frequently tell people (strangers and even people that I might only know superficially as well as persons that I know in more intimate and ongoing ways) that bitcoin is likely to be serving as one of the greatest wealth transfers that we have ever known or that the world has ever known, and sure you can remain stupid about it or unaware, but in some sense you are lucky that I am even mentioning such a thing to you and going into some details about my having had studied the space. Sure, you have the right to do whatever the fuck you want in terms of "looking into the matter" or taking some kind of meaningful action or even ignoring whatever I have said to you about the topic. I am not necessarily going to attempt to teach you anything beyond some informed questions that you might ask, but in a considerable sense you have been put on notice, and it is up to you regarding what to do, if anything. Surely, my going into the idea of "the greatest wealth transfer in history" is going to vary and is quite likely to come out differently, and maybe at some point I might hone in upon some better formulaic ways of saying such things and to differ the pitch a wee bit depending on my assessment of the receptiveness of my audience. As per chart below $57000 BTC is bullish . And My Targets are $72000/$78000 https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSDT/dpUsEzQv-Bitcoin-Ready-for-78000-for-New-All-time-high-and-After/

If the $1,400.00 is 'supposed' to fall out of the sky...and shows up...unasked...to stimulate the economy...well....I've put all of mine so far... the first $1,200.00 one was it? the $600 one and will do the same with the $1,400 one. All went into BTC dust. Just saying I have my own way of jump-starting the economy. For good or nil....how it goes. Brad

I realized right away that nothing good would come of it: either they would spend the early years laughing at you because they think it's a scam, or spend later years pissed at you that you became rich (on a scam asset in their minds) and won't share the wealth with them.
Those are the only two options? Do you only know shitty people? Yep...with the exception of the WO gentlemen, that's all the world is full of now. Oh my. I don't believe you for a minute, even though I believe that some people might have those kinds of suspicions of their fellow man in the real world. All joking aside though, even if they didn't do those two things above, the more likely outcome is complete ambivalence toward Bitcoin. Acting like the only people who invest in btc are just weirdo nerds.
From the stories I've seen here and elsewhere on the net, looks like hiding my ownership of btc was the right call after all.
There might have been some people in the real world who might have been able to profit or to become enlightened about bitcoin by hearing from a real person, like uie poo-ie, torque. Ever thought of that? I get to have all of the financial upsides, and none of the social downsides.
There remains a concept of "giving back" even though I might not be the best in the world at this kind of thing because I do believe in helping myself first before attempting to help others.. which also might be a wee bit greedy in actual real world practice? But sometimes there still remains little things that each of us and any of us can do without any real skin off our back, and it might not be as involved as helping a little ole lady cross the street but it could be something as simple as dropping some seeds of wisdom with non-self-centered interactions.. for example, maybe spending 5 minutes or more talking with someone who seems inclined to talk, even though you personally might not feel inclined to talk.. which could end up going down an unexpected number of topics that were brought up by the other person rather than a topic of interest to ur lil selfie. I don't need bragging rights to feel wealthy,
No need to brag. What is is. I have recalled several occasions driving by myself in a fairly spacious luxury car (think of a medium-sized SUV) and then parking in the parking lot next to someone who has a tiny car, but they are fitting a family of 7 (including dog) into a car that really should only sit 4 at most (think of a vw beetle or some small car that might be slightly larger)... and sure, I feel a bit guilty in my thinking that they would fit much more nicely in my car, and I could fit more easily into their car as one person rather than 7, but I still do not exchange cars with them, even though I already realize that it should be quite obvious that I am much better off financially than them, and I am not sure whether they might have more bonding over their ridiculous experiences of fitting so many in their car and hanging out in such proximity that would be quite uncomfortable for me. people can see by the things that I own that I'm well off. They don't need the details of exactly how I did it. I also don't need a target on my back.
I doubt that the world is so cruel and evil as you seem to be implying, but surely I am NOT against taking precautions that is for sure. Each of us will surely draw lines in differing places, and to me, it does not seem to be a very comfortable situation to totally lock myself away from social interactions and attempting to know people of a variety of backgrounds.. can sometimes be self-fulfilling (and feelings of liberation) too to have such interactions from time to time... and let the conversation go where it will go..

Wondering why. Perhaps for OpSec? Perhaps there was another deletion event à la Boblaw? Perhaps it's not even noteworthy.
Haven't seen this number changed for quite some time, 157 posts deleted, so i think no This is a self-moderated topic. If you do not want to be moderated by the person who started this topic, create a new topic. (157 posts by 13 users deleted.) Well strawbs you are right... it happened again earlier and I noticed posts have been shifting. So the only possible reason i could think of is user's getting nuked and of course their all posts will be deleted but will not be counted in above count of 157 deleted posts.

I do have an RX580 in my VR rig that would be an improvement but it's not really set up for keyboard and mouse gaming. I guess I'll have to move some peripherals around.

What is crypto and does it relate to this thread? I had heard about that HODL thingie-ma-jiggie in reference to bitcoin.... but surely that seems like a mainstream media label that came after it had already been established to mean something elsie. Seeing prices starting to waver again. Reset targets for the short term, before needing to reload powder. Are those buys for ants? #justsaying
