Annoying. I just went over to Tesla to pick up a used Model S (there are no new ones) and they want this "Credit card" thing.
No clue what's up with that.

Just stay on the payment page and refresh the page or press F5. I tried its showing, for the first time it didn’t show to me too

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still consolidating in the $5xxxx range... currently $57199USD/$71960CAD (Bitcoinaverage). Time to move on up. Go Bitcoin go. The chart conveniently omits April 2013 when Bitcoin crashed by over 80% from $266 down under $50. Sometimes noobs do deserve to be bashed Especially when they start blathering on about bullshit like "crypto", ICOs or NFTs.

I reckon there's probably $50 to $100 million in real fiat deposits backing Tether's $2.5 billion in worthless blockchain tokens that were used to blow the 2017 bitcoin bubble.
We're headed back to $1k folks.
Why do you think that? This is the rich list - 380,670,753 Feb 01 09:37 AM Huobi 1DUb2YYbQA1jjaNYzVXLZ7ZioEhLXtbUru 329,339,572 Feb 01 09:37 AM Bittrex 1Co1dhYDeF76DQyEyj4B5JdXF9J7TtfWWE 270,000,000 Dec 21 '17, 06:14 AM Poloniex 1FoWyxwPXuj4C6abqwhjDWdz6D4PZgYRjA 249,963,861 Feb 01 09:37 AM Binance 1GjgKbj69hDB7YPQF9KwPEy274jLzBKVLh 200,000,000 Jan 31 06:55 PM 1KYiKJEfdJtap9QX2v9BXJMpz2SfU4pgZw 148,821,592 Feb 01 09:37 AM Bitfinex 12uhUkxpwkD2LGzKHUywoknoJ3fC9vev1x 82,862,390 Jan 26 09:03 AM Binance 1ApkXfxWgJ5CBHzrogVSKz23umMZ32wvNA 55,715,971 Feb 01 09:37 AM OKEx These exchanges presumably had to buy the tether with real $$ in order to list tether on their exchanges in the first place. Whether the money tether received is still tucked away or not is anyone's guess but unless tether gave all these exchanges free tether, your $50 - $100 million doesn't make sense. Hello, Do you know to which exchange belongs this address? 1GjgKbj69hDB7YPQF9KwPEy274jLzBKVLh and what address is suppose to be in first raw?

If Elon was already posting here, surely he'd be none other than proudhon? And it's not a fact that Ilon doesn't communicate here among us under some pseudonym!

Only question I would have if I pay for a Tesla with BTC am I still liable for Capital Gains Tax or not. It depends on where you live. In the US? Yes. You have to pay the tax.

Only question I would have if I pay for a Tesla with BTC am I still liable for Capital Gains Tax or not. Which Country? In Australia you would be, depending on how long you had held that particular UTXO, you could be entitled to 50% Discount on CGT. Already had this conversion with my accountant, about best way to handle my Bitcoin in relation to Taxation. Did you know, if i went on holidays to the US and exchange my AUD to USD, didn't spend it all, brought it back home and changed it back to AUD and made a profit Capital Gain on that amount i had brought back, i would be liable for CGT.

UK. I'm guessing I would have to also. I will wait until a Model S Plaid+ including VAT and CGT and a high performance whore for the first week of ownership altogether is less than 0.1 BTC Till then I will keep driving a polluting petrol car. See you in 2025 Tesla.

ha, when you drive off the lot almost ANY car would depreciate 9-11% instantly, it's a fact, so harping about btc volatility is a non-starter. What if btc declines 10%? lol In addition, people like this always forget about the REPLACEMENT trade, which is available.

Unfortunately, some people who know I have bitcoin seem not to care for my opsec and will happily discuss the fact that I hold btc with anyone they feel like. Which is annoying, since I don't go around talking about anyone else's finances. So I am wondering how to address this issue. It didn't seem to matter many years ago that I had told a few of my friends about my btc holdings but now, at these prices, it's something I wish I hadn't done.
Anyone else in the same boat?
Pretty much everyone... Yeah, I was discussing this with my gf the other day. She has family members that have told loads of other family members. It’s really irritating, I don’t want to be having to face questions like - ‘So how many bitcoin do you have’ ‘What are they all worth’ ‘When will you sell’ Mind your own damn business. I don’t ask to see your wages or bank statements, assholes. Yeah it’s suddenly started for me. People asking how many I have, including teen kids of friends. I don’t tell them of course but still. Boating accident in 3... 2... 1... Good thing was, when we started extending the house, bitcoin price was sub $10k, so it's absolutely plausible that i had to sell all my corn to pay for work and material. So, i'd recommend you to think a bit about your "exit story" and do some rehearsals with your wife and/or kids.

I promised one of my kids a fraction of btc sometime back as a reward for doing something productive. It was either btc or opening of the Roth IRA with the same $ value. BTC was chosen (a wise decision by a kid). I better fulfill that promise before that fraction exceeds yearly gift limits. The "danger" is that the kid would brag to friends. I remember jbreher giving whole btcs to his relatives on their bd. Not possible these days without filling some tax forms. In US, we can only give up to $15K/person/year without filling forms.

Only question I would have if I pay for a Tesla with BTC am I still liable for Capital Gains Tax or not. If you pay for it without converting it to fiat your not liable, for the simple fact that Bitcoin is outside of any country jurisdiction. If you use a payment processor or such to use government property as in fiat you pay full fiat gain. Anything which belongs to country (fiat..) or is registered in a country (car, company...) is taxable. If you create your own token it is your property just like when you knit a jumper if sold for fiat, taxed, if exchanged for another non government property (another token, homemate something..) its not. Not tax advice

It's going to be fucking hilarious to watch what Tesla does during the next Bitcoin blow off top. Watch as the 'buy with bitcoin' page magically disappears as their website gets bombarded with buy orders.
