Are you sure? Ever heard of Tesla or Elon Musk?

that was game changing? I'm not sure if he was talking about tesla accepting bitcoin as payment method. but maybe you are right.

... everybody's options expire worthless??, good let's move on then

options are a fool's game, incentivising manipulation and introducing peverse incentives from temporally incongruous assets into spot markets

Without giving away too much opsec (or even too many private particulars), fillippone, it might not be a bad idea to give us a few more details about what you mean about some of the history covered in your post, exactly.

So for example, if you heard about bitcoin at x time or y price, then what did you do?  Did you buy a little and then get distracted by shitcoins?  Did you become more bullish about bitcoin later?  Sure many of us might have some regrets about having inadequate earlier plans that we had to bolster later.. but then if you created some kind of accumulation goal, are you anywhere close to reaching it, and sure, of course, BTC's price movement can cause some changes in the accumulation goal plans and to cause some of us to consider that we had reached our goal before we thought that we would.

Almost like being eskimo brothers, when we are looking back that far (7.33 years), no?

All the information I feel safe to disclose to you guys can be found in my interview.
Tought you alread read that one!

we added an extra $100kCAD an hour before the vendor was considering all the offers. The extra hundred grand was nothing compared to the millions by which our coins increased in value while we patiently waited.

Wow, that's a pretty good vendor intel right there.
Is it typical in Canada to be told the decision time by an hour?
I never heard about it here, where they just vaguely tell you that a better offer was received.
One time my buying agent was clearly in cahoots with the selling agent (that is completely illegal)-we even had to have a consult with a lawyer.

On Wednesday when I made an appointment with my agent to put together an offer and meet me on Thursday to sign it, there were no other offers.

On Thursday when I met her to sign, she said the vendor's agent had told her there was another offer. I signed for the asking price. I trust my agent but I don't know the vendor's agent.

Then later that afternoon she called to tell me there was yet another offer. She also said that the vendor's agent told her that the vendor and his lawyer were going to meet with him at noon the next day to assess all three offers.

Later that night after clearing my head with a few drinks, I was suspicious about the flurry of last-minute offers. I realized that maybe the other agent wasn't being completely forthcoming about all the offers and maybe he was holding back an offer where he stood to make both ends of the commission by representing both the vendor and the purchaser. That's when I decided to throw in the extra $100k and waive several conditions to make a preemptive strike and make sure we got the lake.

I met my agent at 9:30AM on Friday, initialed all the changes to the offer and she got it to the vendor's agent around 11:00AM.

Talk about the eleventh hour!
Are you sure there were other offers and you didn’t just bid against yourself? Real estate is a real scummy business.

”#Bitcoin  is worth a trillion bucks & its never spent a dollar on marketing.

Never had a CEO or a board meeting.

Never had a budget.

Never lobbied.

Never done a partnership.

Never hired a lawyer or an auditor.

Never existed in physical form.

We’ve never had anything like it”

That's everyone's story though ... everyone knew about Bitcoin when it was a buck.

I was late to the party apparently.
I cannot even remember the price being in the double digits, honestly.

Stacking sats now. All the best I can do. Purchasing land out of the realm of possible things for the moment.

But I am happy as it is right now. Still early compared to the mass. And who knows what would have I done if I had purchased 1000 BTC at 1.

@Jimbotoronto: congrats marrying the right girl.

congrats to jimboToronto!

Same here, heard about bitcoin in the news before 2013 but was too busy to look into it, working 7 days (accepted all OT work) trying to pay off bills and debt, not ashamed to admit I borrowed from cc to buy bitcoin when the price was triple digits and kept borrowing/buying as price went up, lost all profits in the bear market of 2014-16

Held through 2018-19 bear market, but did pay off debts with profits. Quit my job this year, bitcoin has been good to (all of) us even the ones that were not that early to the party

Not sure this is anything more than a coincidence, as I try to explain in another post but worth keeping an eye on it.

It seems for the most part the husband was the bitcoin and investment expert of the family, they had a nice life and could afford to get more bitcoin, why is she questioning his call when they are doing so well? Does she believe to know better? Why? Probably most of those posting on this thread will agree with his call and his assessment of the market, there is no need to sell bitcoin now and maybe ever when the ceiling seems to be way higher than where we are now.

Simple answer: She wanted out and needed an excuse. Nothing more is needed.

Best way to manage these issues: never tell the SO you have bitcoin. Second best: don't say how much, just some pocket money for the lulz.

These strategies come handy if she ever turns her back on you, too.

Another angle: My wife wants to split, she gets 50%, no regrets and I don't look back. It's all about managing expectations.

It is a good point.  if you have 2 units of what ever and count on 1 for her and 1 for you in case of a split its cool.

Or be like me.

My wife earned far more than I ever did from 1986 to 2017.

So I have no worries in a 50-50 split I make out.

Although if BTC keeps whaling away in a few years time I will pass her up in grand total earnings.

Just a quick one before HODLsleep - To the guys talking about potential divorces & 50/50 stash splits with the ball & chain, have you never heard of boating accidents? They happen to us bitcoin’ers quite often Wink

^ disk drive failures and lost/forgotten passphrases are much more common, plausible and convincing than boating accidents .... and you don't need to buy a boat.

... bitcoin is perfect for getting lost and destroyed, is it a bug or a feature?

<snip>

Sometimes I look at planB  S2F chart predicting $5mil/btc in 2025.
https://twitter.com/100trillionUSD/status/1375483627090419716

That would be absolutely wild, wouldn't it?
I cannot comprehend the meaning of that number (~100X from here).

If you still don’t own BTC in your portfolio, stay poor bro.
