In the last several months (maybe as far back as March/April 2022 - after the end of 2021 supra $100k top did not come into reality as scheduled/planned?) there were a lot of folks (even active members in this thread) proclaiming that April 2021 was the real top and that the November 2021 higher top did not matter... blah blah blah... Do you need me to name names?  I doubt it would be necessary it was a common enough proclamation that is not exactly dead in current times, either.

I have already stated that the ASIC monopoly and mining cartel are much more dangerous than any kind of scaling issues. Just so that we are clear, all these idiots in altcoins parading "we are the best, we will win next" will get crushed. This is the time to be watching and learning from Bitcoin, i.e. how Bitcoin combats and resists malicious actors such as Bitmain.

This is partially correct. You're overestimating. ASICBOOST can save about ~20% in energy costs. However, at current profit margins of ~1% that translates to a ~2000% increase in profits.

Any Antminer that is not behind a 'disallow by default' firewall (which is very uncommon for home miners).

I have also consistently (for about a year) pointing out that non-mining entities (which I had formerly been mistakenly been calling 'non-mining nodes') have essentially zero power to influence the network, and provide essentially zero value to the network at large. I have, though, stated that such non-mining entities are what allow their owners/users to transact in a trustless manner. Benefit to the owner, no benefit to the network.

The whole "satoshi" thing builds upon the assumption that miners are honest. We know today that this is not true (ASICBOOST, AntBleed, empty blocks, et. al.). Due to this, everything that you've quoted is nullified. The primary thing protecting the network from mining cartel abuse are the non-mining nodes. Do not get me started on Satoshi's failure to predict ASICs, and his 1 CPU = 1 vote does not mean 1 ASIC Miner = 1 vote. Otherwise you're basically saying that 1 Bitmain = Bitcoin (assuming they stopped shipping devices for a while and using all of them).

My first impression (even after glancing at those linked news releases) is that seems to be like a win for that fucktwat scammer Craig Wright.

If Wright even received £1 as nominal damages, then that ruling seems to have also precluded McCormack from collecting legal fees (and/or punitive damages from Wright) in regards to either Wright's frivolous lawsuit or the fact that the Wright twat had submitted false evidence to the court in support of such frivolous claim.

It could have been worse, but still something does not seem proper/fair/just about the ruling.

Re whether April 2021 or Nov 2021 was the 'real' top, opinions differ.
In price, it is Nov, of course. In everything else: momentum, various on-chain metrics, etc, April looks like a better fit.
As bears in bitcoin usually last at least 12-14 mo, therefore, IF June's ~$17.6K would be an ultimate bottom, then, indeed, it would help to think about bear market lasting since last April.
On the other hand, if the bottom (lower than $17.6K) would occur between now and next January-February, then it would seem that Nov 2021 was the "true" top.
I know that it sounds wishy-washy, but in fact, it is more like a truly undetermined state....our future measurement (of the bottom) would determine the "true top" call.
