FYI: Coinbase account and bank account would have to have an exact same spelling of the name (and opened to the same person) for them to facilitate the transfer...no third name transfers.
EDIT: foreigners can easily open US bank accounts, but Americans cannot easily open foreign bank accounts (in fact, most banks outside of US don't do business with US citizens).
It is a "funny" asymmetry.
They were not opening bank account back in 2020, the reason is the crypto business.
Here is my experience of opening account with Coin base and Gemini. I am leaving it for anyone who is trying to do this in future.
Whether it's Coin Base or Gemini they all do KYC and social security number(SSN) is must to proceed. We even called Coin Base help agent and they said SSN is must. The agent said we can give relaxation to some countries but we were not in that list.
So in nut shell only US citizen's can open account with such crypto conversion apps/sites and people who are there on visa must get SSN before proceeding.
USA has a tight control over crypto unlike other countries.
