I do worry about the CGT (Capital Gains Tax) increase we will probably get here in the UK under the Labour government.
It could be 40% or 45% depending on how much you earn and/or sell IF indeed CGT would be aligned with income tax bands.
To me that is heartbreaking compared to the current 20% which I already think is a lot, but much more fair for a government to take.
So sure selling something like 10-15% of my stash before that potentially happens is now often crossing my mind.

I don’t think it’ll happen, they would lose too many rich people moving to tax friendlier countries. It’d be net negative for them to make changes to something that such a small % of people pay.

@satoshibaggins
While you're being scared, smart money is doubling down.

That’s because this dip is nothing new.

As you can see, Bitcoin goes to a new all-time-high every 4 years:

2012: Bitcoin goes from $12 to $1000 = ~9,000% increase
2016: Bitcoin goes from $650 to $19K = ~3,000% increase
2020: Bitcoin goes from $8K to $69K = ~1,200% increase
2024: ?

Notice how, in every consecutive cycle, the #Bitcoin  returns get smaller by about ~60%.

That would imply a 450% price increase this cycle, putting Bitcoin at ~$330,000 per coin.

Thoughts?

VAR and the useless referee ruined that match. Could have had extra time. England possibly still would have won. Seemed the stronger side.
But just too much interference I thought.

Again Netherlands were denied a corner just before the opposition scored. Very reminiscent of 2010.

I was wondering WHEN someone would do one of those.
All I could find was Hitler selling 1000 Bitcoin in 2011 and then it climbed to $18. When he thought buying a pizza for $18,000 was a bit much.  Grin

Try $57 million.  Cheesy

Congratulations England for reaching the finals which they probally lose against Spain.

Looking forward for 2026 World Cup in America, Canada and Mexico with a whopping 48 contenders.

Edit: Goal-line technology is acceptabele but VAR is a cancer it ripped the soul out of the sport.

Will be late matches over here in 2026 in the old world I guess with the time difference, though I think they make some adjustment.

VAR seemed to have been against The Netherlands when possible during the entire tournament.

Still, the Dutch did well and no one can say both the Dutch and the English didn't try this evening. Even Harry Kane ran a bit.
