I really like seeing US policy turning more and more pro-Bitcoin. If the plan to establish a Strategic Bitcoin (BTC, not crypto) Reserve really goes through, we should expect to see a huge, possibly order-of-magnitude (10x) price increase in the coming year or two. It looks like 2025 will be a very interesting year for Bitcoin HoDLers, different from (and better than) past cycles. It could even mean that the "rinse and repeat" cycle strategy of some of us should, perhaps, be revised to something like "never rinse, buy when you can, sell when you must". I, for one, am very hesitant to sell large chunks at the supposed peak of this cycle ($200k? More?)... Will it really be the peak, or the beginning of a major long-term uptrend? Will there ever be a "Bitcoin winter"? Perhaps I'm too bullish and will miss the chance to multiply my stash by "selling high, buying low", but I just can't bear the thought of selling and not being able to buy back.

It's kind of sad that the EU does not follow suit and is still very anti-Bitcoin, but the US is bound to affect EU policy sooner or later.

Not a bear, but it seems that WS is pressing for a bargain...maybe they will engineer a down-tick from JPowell's tomorrow's mutterings...a quick dip to, say, 87K or so (in 2-3 days), then rally to 105-115k toward the EOY. Overall, the momentum is strong, but "tactical" trader-induced dips are always possible.

The cunts unelected officials leading the ECB are not too different from the ones leading the Fed, actually. But the population in the EU is more fragmented and less sensitive to some issues - inflation in particular. There are wider differences from state to state than in the US, and single states can and will apply different corrective measures. Besides, people in the EU are mostly unarmed.

It's quite sad to see the EU behaving like this, instead of being the world leader in Bitcoin adoption. TPTB don't like losing control, and will fight it. But we'll win in the end. First they ignore you...

Yeah, it may still be the same, but with bigger players. Something like a peak of $250k-$500k, followed by a big dip taking us back to low 6-digit to even 5-digit levels for a couple of years. I'm also thinking of selling some (probably small) amount, and keep it in the exchange to buy back later. It's just that Bitcoin has become so precious (not only in monetary value, but also special in itself) that selling it for fiat just feels like a really bad idea...

Will see how things go. Either way, it's a win-win.

 Actually it's just an empty, old tackle box I filled with ramen and some mixed frozen veggies.  You can't even tell the difference.

bento is usually stainless steel. my tackle boxes were not.

 I'm just being obtuse.  I also had a small steel tackle box as a basic kit which got "upgraded" to a stamped aluminum box with 2 plastic collapsing trays - a birthday gift from my grampa.  That one had all the basics in it plus a few favourite lures and the tools (knife - a Rapala fish 'n filet naturally - needle nose pliers, scale) I used to keep that box and a fishing rod in my car all the time just behind the driver's seat.  Back then, I never locked my vehicle... there was no need; people just didn't mess with your stuff.  I went to my car early one morning which I had parked out behind my apartment building and saw that the doors were ajar and also the glovebox was open.  My first thought was that my younger brother had come by to borrow something and I was pissed off that he would have left the doors ajar like that - could have killed my battery!  I looked in the glovebox, didn't notice anything missing, closed it up and pulled closed the passenger door as well.  I had to get to work so I didn't have time to give my brother shit.  Then I reached for the seatbelt and realized something wasn't right.  I turned to look in the back seat and my fishing rod was missing.  "Ah!  He came by to borrow my fishing gear", I thought, "Sweet!  Fresh pickerel fillets for dinner tonight!"  Then I wasn't so angry about the doors.  I didn't even have time to go fishing at that time anyway.  I had a 7:30 to 4  steady day job and a part-time job where I worked some weekdays from 4:30 to 11 and weekends... as much as they needed me - sometimes from 9am until 11pm.  So if my little brother could get some use out of my gear, that was great; I was on a mission to pay off my student loan and save the down payment for a house.  Anyway, sadly, there were no pickerel filets forthcoming because my brother hadn't come by to borrow my fishing gear.  Somebody else had "borrowed" it.  I would occasionally wander along the local creek checking out the fishermen's gear to see if I couldn't find my box.  It was pretty distinctive because I had sprayed a mottled finish on it with some leftover 1974 Chevy midnight metallic blue touch up paint and some leftover candy apple red I had used when I refinished a neighbour's bicycle frame.  It looked pretty cool imo

 Sorry, I got a little nostalgic for the simpler times when cars didn't need to be locked let alone outfitted with proximity and intrusion alarms and kept in a locked garage with a surveillance system and then a GPS tracking device and remote shut off just in case all else fails; insert old an yelling at clouds.gif

I lived in NYC we had a solid amount of crime . I was robbed by a crack head that could not hand the 45 automatic still. That was in 1992 I had signed the contract to buy my house and was moving to Howell NJ in six weeks.

As the guy pointed the gun at me I thought this fool is going to kill me while my poor wife is sleeping in bed and does not even know I went to buy the Daily News and bagels for Sunday breakfast.

I OPENED my wallet showed him all the cash and gave it to him. MAYBE $50 bucks. He say my wedding band and my college ring took them and a brand new watch [timex but gold color]

HE LEFT me and I walked to my apartment. Happy he did not kill me or take the whole wallet.

We moved to Howell, NJ a month or two later. HOWELL was very crime free for decades. But it now has more crime and the cops dress in full armor which passes me off alot since we never had a cop get shot in 32 years.

Life is a bit harder but that is beyond my paygrade.
