Bitcoin Dominance Hits Four-Year High As BTC Price Tops $97,000
Bitcoin dominance is up to 64.89%, up from around 57.9% at the start of the year, as its price inches closer to $100,000.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2025/05/04/UUUzBz.jpeg

Bitcoin’s dominance of the cryptocurrency market reached 64.89% today, its highest level since January 2021, as the price of Bitcoin topped $97,000 Friday morning.
BTC’s dominance—its capitalization as a percentage of the entire market’s cap—has risen from around 57.90% at the start of the year, according to TradingView data.

It had dropped to 55% by early December, as euphoria following Donald Trump’s election victory pushed altcoin prices to new highs.
Yet this positive sentiment turned to fear and uncertainty when the Trump administration began imposing (and ramping up) tariffs in February and March, dampening investor appetite for altcoins.
Bitcoin’s Friday surge to $97,000 puts it just 10.9% below its all-time high of $108,786 set in January, whereas the likes of Ethereum, Solana and Dogecoin are down 54%, 43% and 61% respectively on highs set in either December or January, per data from CoinGecko.
At time of publication, Bitcoin has retraced slightly to $96,947, up 0.7% on the day.

He told Decrypt, “It has high acceptance relative to its peers and the more speculative coins thanks to its relatively friendly regulatory environment, which, under this Trump administration, is expected to improve further.”
Morrison also explains that, even during more bearish periods, investment in Bitcoin remains attractive to retail and institutions because its “supply is strictly limited,” in contrast to many alts.

It has also shown resilience despite recent market turbulence, and investors can now see a decent history of bounce-backs following large pullbacks,” he added.

This may prove key for as long as tariffs weigh down the U.S. and global economy, with Bitcoin’s relative resilience during this period likely to help it increase its market cap dominance.

In fact it was the birthday of the great man who made the first Bitcoin transaction meaning he made history, We are celebrating this man's 69th birthday, even he was even born in 1956. I think he was one of the rare people who believed in the potential of Bitcoin from the very beginning.

Buy, but don't flaunt it,
Because a 5-dollar wrench,
Is painfully cheap!

#7wodigestsundayhaikus
Spending painfully cheap time is now a dream for us. We can't go back to our childhood in the same way.
Now We can hold $200k into our imagination and into our practical reasoning.

Time is eating away at our lives but how far are we yet in committing to Bitcoin accumulation?
The conditions for not holding will not accept any excuses. The future will not forgive us.

Warmth, gratitude and utmost respect for Canadian war veterans in the Netherlands.

Those veterans aged from 95 to even over 100+ years old still have the strength for a transatlantic travel to  Europe.

We made sure they were not disappointed.

Thanks for an inspirational post.

My father was a captain in the Canadian Army in WW2 (Med Corps psychologist) and was sent to the Netherlands at the end of the war to process shell-shocked fighters to determine if they were ready for reintegration into civilian society. He was overwhelmed by the level of gratitude displayed by the people there. It's nice to see that 80 years later people still remember.

I'm not big on glorifying the military during times of peace but we Canadians are proud of our record of fighting despotism and the bullying of smaller countries by larger powers. Don't confuse politeness and peacefulness with cowardice or laziness.

1st Canadian army was basicly the front wing liberators clearing the country from Nazi's where many had suffered from food shortages in what became known as the hunger winter, 30,000 perished from famine.

There are many graves of Canadian (+American, English) soldiers in the country maintained by locals to continue to honour their sacrifice.

Also, Canada gave refuge to some royal family members after the Nazi's destroyed Rotterdam with air raids and goverment capitulation. Queen Juliana gave birth in 1943. Princess Magriet was born in the maternity wing in the Ottawa Hospital, it was declared to be part of the Netherlands embassy in order the princes could legally be born on Dutch soil. After the war and to this date the Dutch donate a lot of flowers each year to Ottawa as gratitude.

Today is the birthday of the Bitcoin legend who first bought a pizza with Bitcoin, that is he bought pizza with the first 10,000 bitcoins. We are celebrating this man's 69th birthday, even he was even born in 1956. I think he was one of the rare people who believed in the potential of Bitcoin from the very beginning.

Laszlo Hanyecz was the one that bought two large pizza from Papa John's in exchange with 10000btc.

Boring weekend of price action. Hopefully it’s the calm before the storm. Maybe we have one little dip to successfully retest $90,000 but I really hope and actually expect to see upwards price trajectory soon.

This is not a joke any more, sub $100,000 Bitcoin is stupidly cheap. We are entering May now, I want to see a significant move soon.

I remember a time when WO wanted to wear their physical hats in the real world... That would have gone badly.

Lets not go all paranoid here, wearing a bitcoin tee shirt or hat is not going to get you rolled.

Strutting through a slum with a rolex and more jewelry than the queen of england will.

I'm not sure you guys know the context of the picture I posted of that Indian "Money Lender".

He was basically a loan shark that used to strut around the slums he made his money off of flashing in the faces of the people struggling to pay him back the wealth he fucked them out of.

Of course if your stupid enough to brag online that you have more coins then the average person makes in a decade or more than you'd be an idiot not to know you just painted a target on your forehead.

In my country most Bitcoin illiterate believes that adding BTC to your know it's. Sign of respect and wealth
Because of the price.
If someone is found wearing such a shirt, They would take it casual.
They are moved by the luxury they see not one in your wallet (If most even know what that is).

If I ever see someone flexing their wealth, be it bitcoin or anything else, my first thought is "what an asshole."

Reads like a decent rhyme to me. Trying to dip your toe into Rap?  Shocked  Cool  Wink

This week was boring
I don't know why i wrote this
But it's a Haiku

Let's try some more, no?
But this time more serious
Hm, still not quite there

Am i too tired?
I used to do better, still
but here is the thing

It's still not as bad
as a good hit with a wrench
or even some more

defend privacy
better be save than sorry
keep all your fingers

Donald Trump said, I want the United States to do more research on Cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology. Trump thinks that crypto currency or Bitcoin is a new technology of the future. If the United States does not lead Bitcoin, then other countries will lead Bitcoin, so this valuable resource cannot be led by anyone outside the United States. Trump thinks that it is not right to lag behind in terms of technology, as it can be dangerous for the United States in terms of security and economy. Donald Trump understands that at some point the use of Bitcoin will start all over the world, so the United States will become a stronger country than other countries by buying Bitcoin and storing it.

Hooray... *sigh*...  hooray... *sigh*

I mean... however you define "oldtimer" in bitcoin terms... if you are one it's hard to believe we are here.  I should have foreseen how messy it would be, because that part was obvious.
