Cool...re both the interesting FIFA-related story and the tech (coffee is TECH in my eyes, always  Grin) purchases.

The UA interface has the best DA-converters i heard so far, judging by my headphone collection and main monitors (Mackie MR8 with M-Audio SBX10).
Have you tried RMI?

But it fucks up the USB bus for some reason, and this is increasingly reported with the 25H2 update of Win11.

I would go for RME anytime..

Well, Sandisk (SNDK) joined the S&P 500 yesterday so Strategy (MSTR) was rejected (overlooked) once again to be included and the December rebalance doesn't look promising at all either.

Sadly, Michael Saylor, has more work to do to convince the index committee other than adding more Bitcoin to its strategic reserve which increases its balance sheet as an asset but it makes the company look more like a Bitcoin treasury rather than a software company.

Though, it sure would be nice if the price of BTC would reach new all time highs to prove Michael Saylor's resolve about Bitcoin being icing on the cake for the software company.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

Price action is looking really good. I just hope we are not here -

If we are in a regular 4 year cycle then the circled above is where we are now. If four year cycles are a thing of the past then we are going to Valhalla. Hopefully for all our sakes, it’s the latter.

But this cycle is so long, according to this cycle we should already be in Bull Market by now. I'm wondering if market psychology changed. We can't always judge by previous pattern. Change is inevitable, today or tomorrow

Patience peanut.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Even if you might be on some kind of an expectations schedule, dee cornz is not on any kind of an exact schedule.

But this cycle is so long, according to this cycle we should already be in Bull Market by now.
How?
Halvings were in
2012, 2016, 2020, 2024.

All Time Highs were in
2013, 2017, 2021, 2025.

Well.

That's another thing.

We already had around 4 ATHs this year.. so  been there done that.

$109k in January, $112k in May, $123k in July, and $126k on October 6.

Bear Markets were in
2014, 2018, 2022, ____

Look again with out the text
2012, 2016, 2020, 2024.
2013, 2017, 2021, 2025.
2014, 2018, 2022, ____

This looks almost like an IQ test question.  What is the missing number that fits the pattern?
a) 2029
b) 2035
c) 2026
d) 2140

Hahahahaha

All of the above?

Used RME for a LONG time.  Replaced it with MADI SSL converters. Still have those. Though now I just use the cirrus logic in the Behringer mixer at consumer rates lol.  Sounds good though.  Modern A/D/A is quite good really. Even in prosumer gear.

Just want to say this one little thing, I think most of us here don't necessarily need to hear it, but for those of us who might...

One of the biggest parts of the revolution of Bitcoin is your ability to be self-sovereign. You can safeguard your own wealth.

Not your keys, not your coins, is not just a cute phrase. Much of the Bitcoin lost by people over the years has been lost because of issues with custodians of one kind or another.

Ultimately, responsible Bitcoiners taking self custody (as well as large holders when possible) is very important for the health of the asset and the network.  Derivative products certainly have advantages for an investor, but they are not a net good for the Bitcoin network.

It is becoming of utmost importance for those who can self custody to self custody.

A fabulous second order of effect of the ability to do that is that you do not have to ask anyone's permission or wait on anyone to send your value to another address.

Episode 210 of The Watchman Privacy Podcast – Keonne Rodriguez: Going to Prison for Privacy

Gabriel Custodiet speaks with Keonne Rodriguez, co-founder of the trendsetting Bitcoin wallet Samourai Wallet. Keonne was inexplicably arrested in a violent and oppressive military-style raid of his property in April of 2024. He was charged with the bizarre accusation of conspiracy to run an unlicensed money transmitter despite never transmitting money. Keonne tells his story and explains how he has been condemned to prison and stripped of his constitutional rights.

For any Bitcoiner that's been living under a rock This is one of the Devs being interviewed before he goes to jail  in 20 days for 5 years for providing financial privacy software.

If anyone remembers we had discussions about Wasabi and Samurai and I was of the opinion Wasabi was a honey pot and Samurai was the real deal, well I guess we can all make up our own mind about that now can't we.

It is apparent that financial privacy is only allowed for those in the panama papers.

I am reading that some people here are not experiencing any thrill or euphoria any more.  I believe it is not a sign of a change in the Cycles of Bitcoin but it is not a bad thing either.  It can also not be used to pin point where we are currently on the Cycle Psychology chart.
The sentiment was moderate to low the whole year and Bitcoin didn't rank significantly on Google Trends either. You can't say that it is not relevant at all. How can we be in a bull and euphoria phase when most people are not extremely greedy? We have not seen that part of the cycle at all. Not a single metric that was used to validate the bull run in the last 2 cycles has been hit in this cycle. So what then, all metrics are invalidated because you said so?

OT:

Last night I re-watched Nightmare Alley (2021).

Powerful movie, with great performances, and a compelling plot. One of Guillermo del Toro's best.

Recommended watch.

You are living in a fantasy if you believe that $20k to $30k has anything beyond less than 0.1% odds of happening.
Of course I do not believe it will happen, it was just a maybe silly way to explain how I feel.  Even if this close to zero chance of occurrence some how happened, to me Bitcoin is so valuable now that low chance drops can not bring me fear and extreme Bull runs will likely not give me thrills any more either.  To me and presumably many of us here, this is now life.

It is also true that we have BIGGER and BIGGER players coming into bitcoin, so there seem to be greater efforts to control its price volatility, yet I have doubts in regards to how much capacity that BIGGER players have to control bitcoin and/or its prices.. but yeah, I am ongoingly willing to just observe rather than getting too caught up upon specifics regarding what might or might not happen even if there seems to remain a decently broad array of things that could end up happening - including but not limited to large changes in bitcoin's price, especially to the upside.
There is definitely such an effort playing out recently.  I did feel a more stable Bitcoin even this Bullish year and I am not sure if it is the effort of bigger players or the significant influx of Money doing its thing.  Or, maybe both.  To me, what matters the most now is that we do not give up any of our hands before most of the big players announce they are already in and invested significant amounts of Money in Bitcoin.  Not that it is a good idea to give up any of our hands at all, but to who ever has to sell this is not the time I would say.

The more players are in the Bitcoin game, I am guessing the more they will try to grow it.  But before growing it, I can only guess they will try to keep Bitcoin lower until they set all their positions up.  Billionaires have missed on Profits no other investment has made its sincere holders, which makes me wonder if any of them will try moving the Market to their advantage and in such ways that would recover them at least part of what they missed on.  Although there is a risk out there that I am thinking of, which is big players entering the Market to doom it for a while later on and scare the weak out of Bitcoin before CBDCs launch.  Which again would be bad AND good, weak Bitcoin hands are temporary anyway.  But I see a large battle over destroying the peoples Trust in Bitcoin happening around the time CBDCs are going to be running.

Large entities controlling hundreds of thousands of Bitcoin is incredible and scary at the same time.  If there was not a fight against Freedom, I would not even think of all the 'doomsday' scenarios but the closer we are to the Wealth Ledger a k a Digital Fiat, the more possible it seems to me that such things may happen.

Interestingly, even if any of the above happened I would watch it with full curiosity but not sell any of what I have.  Even if the largest war for Censorship and against Privacy and Freedom played out, I would value Bitcoin over any other Asset any day.  It comes with Freedom, it can be hurt but never killed, it surpasses inflation significantly, how can you not love and want it.

I have my doubts.  In terms of percentages, we are ONLY 4x to 6x price differences from the 2017 top until current prices ($19,666 in 2017 and between $80k and $126k currently).
Jay, do not bring my hopes up like you always do.  I want to contradict the others who said we do not get the thrills any more if the time for 1 Million comes!

-----

Just want to say this one little thing, I think most of us here don't necessarily need to hear it, but for those of us who might...

One of the biggest parts of the revolution of Bitcoin is your ability to be self-sovereign. You can safeguard your own wealth.
Freedom.  Bitcoin brings a Freedom that we will increasingly lose in time.  We are losing it quicker and the pace will particularly increase when dystopian Digital Fiat will come to fruition.

Every time a little bit of our Freedom is lost, Bitcoin is more valuable, becomes stronger and serves a bigger scope.  If there was an attempt to seize any and all Bitcoin like they did with Gold, Bitcoin Wealth can be hidden in a way no other Asset can be.  Not only this but you can still SPEND IT and RECEIVE IT with out even having to dig it out or bury it again.  There are metal detectors that can detect Millions of Dollars worth of Precious Metals but there are no detectors to find a buried piece of paper containing a Billion Dollars worth of Bitcoin in a plastic capsule.  This is insanity for any body who tries any evil thing.

I believe Bitcoin has delayed the release of CBDCs and has created a lot of fear around the evil people who want to control us, our Wealth, our thinking and our lives.  Because Bitcoin is a revolution that can not be attacked so they are only left with two options.  Suddenly turn evil completely and ban the Internet for each and every one of us, but this would turn all of us against them.  Or, pretend you support it while trying to find ways to avoid people from entering Bitcoin and finding full Freedom.  If they find Bitcoin and realize the Freedom it brings, then all of a sudden Digital Fiat does not make any sense any more.

This is why I believe ETFs and such are dangerous ways of 'holding Bitcoin'.  Too many people are still holding their Bitcoin on Centralized Exchanges as well, which is really bad.  If any evil plan has to come alive, they will be the first to suffer.  But unfortunately, while self custody is preached over here by many, I doubt this many are actually practicing what they preach and I would bet a lot of them are holding their Bitcoin in dangerous ways.

Bitcoin will become more and more interesting in the coming years and I believe we have not seen its actual potential play out yet.  There will come a time when Bitcoin will be needed by many people, and then All Time Highs and significant drops will not matter any more because people will be running after actual Freedom in despair.

Of course, there will be a lot of sheep too who will not and they will stick to the convenient Digital Fiat that will control their lives.  But to each their own, I suppose.
