1. Assuming BIP110 signaling remains weak and things go on like they are now... 2. The real core (haha) of the BIP110 crowd rationalize that a fork is the only move left. 3. Bitcoinjr.
I just do not see another path forward.
Where I am still unclear is around what this does to public opinion etc. It will be the first hard fork almost everyone has seen. "Which is the real bitcoin" becomes the topic. Price could suffer.
Remember what happened to dollar price last time there was a chain fork, despite widespread expectations of carnage? Question is, which side emerges as the economic majority: coinbase, saylor et al with unlimited fiat, or luke's deplorables with their nodes? Big fiat largely control the exchanges nowadays, so bcash-style dumping might be throttled or blocked. What's actually objectionable is the arbitrary merging of changes that slip through directly to blocks, although op_return bump to 100kb is foolish. AGREED on the bolded.

You guys might appreciate this, would be great to have some testers: In order for sigban recipients to have a better understanding of the reason(s) behind their ban, I developed a simple utility that displays basic information about where an account's "post health score" falls in a range of active users on the forum. couldnt resist: Same score for me top 25% A suggestion would be explaining what scores are possible. Ie : bottom 25% 26-50% 51-75% Top 25% Are the 4 possible scores you can get. Or whatever the possible numbers are. There’s 10% elite poster based on some user post. But the last time I check it’s not accurate since that guy doesn’t have proper reading comprehension. First time to visit this thread when reviewing Nutildah post history. Nice to chill and discuss away from signature pajeet.

Gold bathing Bitcoin? And what's with the gay duckling? BobC projecting?
Jay without a G? Just embrace the ignorance. Way better this way.
Fuck CLARITY Act. Being played like violins. Or, like CLARINETS!

Squirrels are spawning, Bears get electrocuted, And rabbits chew grass!
Take care of your health. We don't want your donation. Slash that A1C!
BIP110. Again. A tempest in a teapot. Bitcoin will be fine!

In the end it does not matter. Bitcoin survives. But in the meantime...
Not sure.
Just thinking aloud, so to say. I would like to elicit some discourse more than state my well-formed, polished opinion (no such thing on this matter). I don't know where I am on this one. I've thoroughly despised NFTs and ordinals and things linked to one specific satoshi. On the other hand, is a ban the best choice? Would it be effective? Who gets to decide how many bits is fair or draw the red line? There are ways around bans. Steganography on the blockchain? Are we centralizing into a caste of seers who interpret the community feedback after one year and tell us if the community liked that? The miners do need incentives, more so as the rewards decay exponentially. Maybe it could be adjusted dynamically with signaling from miner and users - the latter, for example, by voting with the miner fees from their own transactions. TL;DR: Much as I don't like inshitptions, I don't think BIP110 is a good solution. I have looked for a study on the growth effect of the chain with and without and the cost of spam if enabled https://beincrypto.com/bip-110-ordinals-bitcoin-spam-debate/. And I can't find shit, all I see if name calling and arguments for the last few years and no-one publishing actual verifiable facts.

@nutildah: I want my ID blacklisted from this site
Done. I don't think anyone is capable of quantifying my worth and anyone that thinks they are I have a bone to pick with.
That's not what I'm doing, and at no point did I ever say or suggest that's what I'm doing. I know your intentions are good but you need to realize creating systems like this always start that way, just think of your credit score and the hoops the pieces of shit make you jump through now to protect it.
This is just a utility to help identify accounts that consistently break forum rules, and the maximum punishment inspired by its analysis is a temporary signature ban. If you are really equating this to a Chinese social credit score system, well, I suppose that's your right. Its your right to express it on the forum, and nobody has ever taken that away from you. Its not on anybody's table to take away, and it never was. If you spend a little more time reading the thread that explains what I'm actually doing, you might not feel the same way. Its a shame you're having such a reactionary response to this. I really wanted to share with you how it works, as it seemed you wanted to know. It is neither wholly subjective or objective, as either would be the wrong way to go about doing it.

I'll spend some time reading that thread when I get some down time. My reaction is because I see these type things always start as good intentions and morph into something else entirely, like KYC and getting permission from your banker why you need your own money. Its a shame you're having such a reactionary response to this. I really wanted to share with you how it works, as it seemed you wanted to know. It is neither wholly subjective or objective, as either would be the wrong way to go about doing it. I had no clue you were planning on making a website and building a database, that's a whole different ballgame. I'm not sure why you don't see that.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

It is all "fun and games" as long as a guy is "doing great." Fun and games until it is not. BTC = BITCOIN Real Whitepaper: https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf@JuanJee Accused me of being a moron, Let me tell you something BTCrother? First of all, Cryptography and all this espionagee and shit is not made by these guys, alright? Elite Douche Weekly Cover, may worth 0 ETH forever. And about real spirituality. Ever heard of library? Maybe you should snap out of your seeming ongoing delusion babyboy, since why would we be talking about ethereum in this thread or any other shitcoin unless there might be some specific potentially importance to our king and saviour coin? I'm going to recommend if this site decides its going to make a social scoring system then it would be wise to only allow a user access to ones own score and not others and building automation tools on this is a slippery road to liability. There are many studies that prove the dangers of such a system and it is actually illegal in the EU if AI is being used so beware. https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2024/1689/oj/engOf course I'll probably receive Neg trust from staff for pointing that out and be accused of making threats. The bottom line is even with the best intentions down the line these systems are susceptible to being manipulated and that leads to control of those targeted (anyone applied a score no mater how high and nice it looks). I no longer care enough to actually waste my precious time writing this up so here is a AI synopsis of the issues involved. *go ahead and mark this as a low effort post. Your post made me realize that in one of my recent interactions with AI, I had spent around 45 minutes batting around a topic, and various related topics, and some of the matters were technical and a bit deep in the weeds, but some aspects of the topic had some controversy and even some unhandled business.... After a bit of back and forth and AI's realization that I was dancing around the "unhandled business" aspect of our conversation, AI prompted me with whether I wanted it to outline a draft letter on the topic and based on our discussion around the matter, and I told it to go ahead and give me a draft letter. What happened next is that I went over the letter, and I found only a few places in which I would edit the letter, which largely meant that AI had captured all of the various loopholes and unresolved matters that I needed to get a response from another party (the party receiving the letter). So then I realize that even though I edited a couple places of the letter, I had sent the letter out in a form that had been passed through AI. Accordingly, the recipient of the letter might have had asked whether the letter had been generated by AI, which probably would have had gotten a 100% response, which makes it look as if I had not mostly overseen the letter and approved it... which might be part of the explanation for why they have not yet responded to me, even though surely I think that my changes to the letter pretty much caused the letter to be mine, rather than AI's, even though AI outlined the 1st draft which was probably in the ballpark of greater than 95% of what I ended up sending. We have a tool for this, you have heard of it, it's called "The Scientific Method". Hahahaha I know. I am giving you a bit of a hard time based on what seems to be so many back and forth conversations that I tend to have with various forum members on the topic of the future and the various ways that any of us will attempt to prepare for the future that may or may not end up happening. Even guys who are not trained in any kind of "scientific method" may well end up having intuition that, when it comes to the future, we need to attempt to prepare for a variety of scenarios, even though when the future ends up coming, only one of those scenarios ended up playing out, and the future happening could be a majority scenario, a minority scenario or even some outlandishly outrageously unlikely scenario that ended up 100% happening, even though in earlier times it had been an outlier scenario. And of course, many times, even if we might boil our scenarios into base case, best case and worst case, there are likely a lot of scenarios that might not be completely captured by our outlining of what we think might end up happening. I am not even going to proclaim that there are any folks who are better at predicting (or preparing for) the future than others, even though in reality, we know that some of the "winners" and "losers" relate to both how much they either might see certain future scenarios or even how they might be prepared for a variety of scenarios in realistic ways, such as "being directionally correct," even if they might have few (or even no) clues in regards to the details or abilities to outline the "whys."
