Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

Be careful with this new feature. Word is, it actually works. (Too soon?) Maybe too soon. We don't know the fall out yet. There were a lot of pretty BIG bitcoiners who seemed to have had been big advocates of the Cold Card and various CoinKite products, so some of them might have gotten greatly damaged and/or great damages to their friends and family, since some more advance folks might have done the dice rolls and/or the extra pass phrase, and the less sophisticated might have had skipped those practices. For example, many newbies might start out without the passphrase because they falsely had confidence in the wallet features to generate sufficiently random seed words, since what wallet provider who is proclaiming to be "the best" or "the most secure" would take short cuts on seed word generation entropy? Apparently Coinkite did, whether knowingly, recklessly or not.

I see on the news that Spain is getting invaded by tens of thousands of Morocco migrants breaking through the border. 98% of the migrants are men with no shirt on their back and no clothing or money. It's reported that many are already breaking into homes and businesses in Spain's Ceuta Territory. The border has totally collapsed. Trump warned Europe about open borders and Spain is said to have officially welcomed anyone and even offering free living standards for everyone! Why did this guy not just join them He wanted his own immigration to be legendary The more they accept the more people will flood the country, They have to find a way to limit it. And the funny thing is that a lot of people will go there and if there are not enough jobs, probably they have no qualifications so how do they even plan on surviving. You might think you just want to go to another country to get a better life, but how sure are you about that lol. I'm (not really) sorry, but you're both morons. Ceuta is located on the north african coast and is not part of the Schengen Agreement. So swimming there isn't a free ticket into the EU anyway. All the migrants are sent or going back to Morocco. Of course, it's very inconvenient for Ceuta locals (which are mostly moroccans anyway) that thousands of people which came with nothing are knocking on doors and ask for food. "There are no onward movements today towards the European continent," an EU official said, claiming that migrants will not be able to freely move through Europe, as some leading right-of-centre figures across Europe are suggesting.
https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2026/07/31/migrants-in-ceuta-cannot-move-to-other-countries-eu-saysEnough with the right wing's fake news already... EDIT: Looking at my self-custodied BTC wallets since months again today, everything is still fine, by the way. True randomness is hard to find, but totally worth it.

True randomness is hard to find, but totally worth it.
There are ways to achieve (or, perhaps, approach) true randomness, by using natural, analog processes, like analog noise sources. Below is an excerpt from the STM32F76xxx and STM32F77xxx MCU Reference Manual by STMicroelectronics: 22 True random number generator (RNG)
22.1 Introduction
The RNG is a true random number generator that continuously provides 32-bit entropy samples, based on an analog noise source. It can be used by the application as a live entropy source to build a NIST compliant deterministic random bit generator (DRBG). The RNG true random number generator has been tested using NIST statistical test suite SP800-22 rev1a (April 2010). I know many, if not all, Trezor h/w wallets use ARM Cortex microcontrollers (primarily STMicroelectronics STM32 series) as their main processor, so it is possible that they use the above mentioned RNG module. I hope they do. I've been using this RNG module in my own projects for years, and trust it as a randomness source. [ Source (pages 757-767)]

this really shook some people up it seems i mean yeah im rather laid back and lazy and such.. but i still havent checked my trezor balances. and if youre not really really confident in how this all works, dont do self custody. thats long been my take. that being said cold card hardware and design seemed pretty good. sucks for those that got burned (read someone lost 18 btc.. ouch). True randomness is hard to find, but totally worth it. yup, casino dice here

Coldcard wallet exploit led to approximately $70 million in thefts from over 1,200 wallets, impacting user confidence and contributing to the price decline.
Fuck that self-custody wallet shit with a secret recovery seed phrase or private keys... You do your way - I'll do my way!
Quoting Elwar`s X: Then the question becomes...how does @coinbase create their keys, how do the ETFs or nations create them. Are those methods vulnerable. Personally, I had a program create my key on a spare laptop, I wrote down the private and public key, I transferred my bitcoin then smashed the laptop to pieces, smashed the hard drive to little bits, then burned it all in a fire (laptop batteries explode in fire btw). Solution, not just for bitcoin but all such secure programs. Create a repository of safe security protocols/software. Have every new AI release attack those for vulnerabilities before release of the new model. Release an update and explanation for any vulnerability found. Make these the platinum standard for digital security. https://xcancel.com/E1war/status/2083193082283987401#mIt`s the same picture way

not your keys not your coins only works in conjunction of knowing what youre doing and why. so you dont take shotcuts.
im not blaming the victims, at one point i would of trusted something like a coldcard. but i understand that entropy is the key to randomnes and its something i can generate myself.
even the original paper wallet site, forgot it, but you moved your mouse for a while to add more and more randomness, all to get a 256 bit number. well i can do random 256 bit numbers myself now, thanks to this forum.
everyone should at least know how to generate a random key/seed with dice or cards or coins. all 3 methods are well vetted means if done right.

I remember at the time this came out many people that knew what they were talking about were saying this guy was a hack. If you trust a black box than why should you be surprised when it fails you? Bitcoin has always been Verify, Don't trust. Everyone wants to add Trust in and then blames bitcoin when their trust models fail, I for one AM Fucking Sick of it!
These FUD campaigns piss me off to no end from Tards that know nothing and shills that just use idiots ignorance to propagate lies.
