That capability is particularly relevant to crypto, where a software flaw can be converted into money within minutes. CoinDesk reported in June that increasingly capable AI models could compress the work of searching code, finding misconfigurations and assembling attacks from days or weeks into machine-speed operations.

It's not just a matter of paper and steel when it comes to backup, because it is much more important that the entropy when creating the seed is at the appropriate level, and that a strong passphrase is added for additional protection. With an airgapped setup, that's the closest we can do to protecting ourselves from the apparently increasing threats when it comes to AI.

It seems to me that the coldcard case was a test for some AI that successfully completed it - and if the hacked BTC are still intact, that would support that thesis. In any case, using CEXs as wallets has always been stupid, now even more so.
