I had misread you too... and your clarification makes more sense - especially since it can take a while to get to a point of enough bitcoin to feel confident to pull the fuck you lever. Tjere are a decently large number of guys who pull the fuck you lever too soon.. so there is a need to make sure that you have enough, even though so far in bitcoin's history, once a guy gets to a reasonably good fuck you status, bitcoin can be quite forgiving as long as you are correctly valuating. ..
Oh yes. That's one reason why I'm still holding in man. I'm so fed up with the fuck**n emotional, physical and mental demand the job requires, and most others jobs out there are also like that too, so its not that there is a better job out there if I quit this one. Bitcoin is a good tool for financial freedom, but if I should leave this work at the wrong time.. I might get myself into a real difficult situation, let me guess.. I finish all the money, it forces me to sell some coins, I sell em, that one finishes, I sell more, holding reduce more and more until I'm left with nothing and I still have a long time to live in this earth As a matter of fact I still use the salary to accumulate more, but the fact that the job is stressful doesn't still change, I just need the money You seem to believe that living off bitcoin means dividing it by the total number of years that you believe that you are going to live, except that you end up depleting your bitcoin before you die. Personally, I believe that sustainable withdrawal is better, which largely means that you live off of whatever amount that your holdings is gaining each year on average, and largely the gaining of your bitcoin holdings is larger than the amount that you are withdrawing, which is time-based sustainable withdrawal. I go over both price-based and time-based sustainable withdrawal in my sustainable withdrawal thread, and from my point of view way too many normies end up not growing their bitcoin stash size to a sustainable withdrawal amount, which means that they end up depleting their bitcoin stash and then are pretty much left without any bitcoin and with largely insufficient plans.

Green cap is a nice touch. That black bear is a WOer, hence the cap. With all due respects to our resident storage engineer, black bear meat is delicious if harvested in the wild. Unfortunately bears, being omnivorous, are usually polluted with a diet of garbage if they're from anywhere near humans. P.S. Cheers Joe.

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-10-16 (Evening Edition)
Published: 2026-10-16 09:03 PM CT
Bitcoin is drifting lower to start Friday, down 0.7% over the past 24 hours and 1.7% over the past week, with the Fear & Greed Index at 55 still reading Greed despite a six-point slide that suggests conviction is fading. The dominant story is the Ledger wallet drain, where a scammer turned out to be among the biggest victims, losing more than 60 BTC worth roughly $4.8 million in a theft tied to compromised devices sold through a Southeast Asian reseller. Price sits below the 30-day average of $83,309, and the past three days have offered no clear direction, just noise while hotter inflation data keeps the macro picture uncertain.
Outlook: Watch the MSCI index exclusion timeline, with the final list of affected companies due Nov. 11 and the rule taking effect at the close of Nov. 30, since forced selling by index-tracking funds could hit Bitcoin treasury stocks and feed back into the market. Strive's $630 million preferred raise closing Oct. 20 is also worth tracking, because it funds further accumulation and signals corporate buyers remain active despite the softer tape.
MARKET ANALYSIS
Bitcoin is at $81,441.00, down 0.70% over 24 hours and down 1.7% over seven days. The derived Institutional Lag Composite reads -4 on a -50 to +50 scale. Sellers and buyers are both tentative here, and the tape shows it: price has drifted lower on modest volume while sentiment holds in Greed territory at 55, a mild divergence that suggests participants are not fleeing. The derived Institutional Lag Composite at -4, a momentum and sentiment composite, points to slightly tepid institutional conviction rather than outright distribution. The $80,000 level has held as support on recent dips, and $83,000 has capped rallies, so the market is compressing between two well-tested boundaries. A daily close above $83,000 on rising volume would hand control to buyers, while a break below $80,000 would confirm sellers have regained the initiative. Until one of those resolves, chop remains the honest description of this regime.
SCENARIOS
- Consolidation Above $80,000 (52%): A daily close between $80,000 and $83,000 within five trading days, with the Fear & Greed index holding above 45, keeps this range intact. Invalidation: a close below $80,000 or above $83,000 within five trading days. - Upside Break Toward $84,000 (22%): Buyers must reclaim $83,000 on a daily close within five trading days, ideally alongside a Fear & Greed reading pushing above 60, to open the path toward $84,000. Invalidation: failure to close above $83,000 within five trading days, or a drop back below $80,000 after the breakout. - Downside Re-test of $78,500 (26%): Sellers take control if price closes below $80,000 within five trading days, confirmed by the Fear & Greed index slipping back under 45. Invalidation: a daily close back above $80,000 within five trading days after the break, or a direct reclaim of $83,000 without visiting $78,500.
KEY MARKET MOVERS
- MSCI index rule deadline: The finalized exclusion test for Bitcoin treasury companies takes effect Nov. 30, with the affected list published Nov. 11, creating a scheduled catalyst for forced index-fund selling. - Strive preferred raise closing: The expanded $630 million SATS offering set to close Oct. 20 hands the fourth-largest public treasury another war chest, a structural bid that sits underneath the accumulation headlines.
TOP STORIES
1. Scammer among biggest victims of Ledger wallet drain, losing 60 BTC URL: https://decrypt.co/381141/scammer-lost-4-8m-in-bitcoin-to-tampered-ledger-wallets-chainalysis Published: 2026-10-16 07:22 AM CT Summary: One of the biggest victims of the Ledger hardware wallet theft was a scammer who lost more than 60 BTC, worth about $4.8 million, according to Chainalysis. The stolen Bitcoin came from a task scam in which people were paid to fake sales and reviews of real items, then told to add their own money when a negative balance appeared in their accounts. The scammer moved the proceeds into three separate Ledger addresses on September 22, and thieves emptied all three into a single wallet on October 9, with each address drained of about $1.64 million. Ledger's Donjon security team found an unauthorized implant in wallets sold through Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis that reads the 24-word recovery phrase during setup and sends it out over LTE, and the company has tied all confirmed losses to devices sold through that reseller. Onchain investigator Specter has traced more than $86 million in suspected thefts, a figure Ledger has not verified, and the company has asked resellers and distributors in six Southeast Asian countries and Hong Kong to suspend sales while its investigation continues.
2. Hot inflation data pressures Bitcoin, but CoinShares says it is not bearish URL: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/news/bitcoin-under-pressure-says-coinshares Published: 2026-10-16 01:30 PM CT Summary: Bitcoin fell 2% over the past week to about $81,473 after U.S. inflation data came in hotter than expected. Consumer prices rose more than expected in September, and producer prices climbed at their fastest pace in more than four years, according to the Labor Department. CoinShares Head of Research James Butterfill said the near-term setup is difficult but not fundamentally bearish, since inflation is too high for the Fed to ease while the economy is too resilient to force a pivot. He argued that higher borrowing costs can restrict the liquidity Bitcoin needs to rally, and that the market has repriced hawkishly on the data. Butterfill advised investors to treat the coming weeks as a data-driven range rather than a trend, noting that Bitcoin spent the first half of 2026 in a bear market before its best quarter in years in August and September.
3. TD Cowen raises Strive price target 27% after bitcoin buying spree URL: https://www.theblock.co/news/markets/2026-10-16-strives-bitcoin-buying-spree-earns-27-price-target-hike-td-cowen-418839 Published: 2026-10-16 03:21 PM CT Summary: TD Cowen raised its price target on Strive to $56 from $44 after the company bought more bitcoin in two weeks than the analysts projected for the entire fourth quarter. Strive's holdings climbed to 35,595 BTC, worth roughly $2.9 billion, from 28,000 at the end of September, a gain of almost 7,600 BTC against a prior forecast of 4,750 BTC for the quarter. The accumulation included a 3,311 BTC purchase announced Tuesday and another 2,822 BTC on Wednesday, lifting Strive to the fourth-largest bitcoin treasury among publicly traded companies, just ahead of MARA's reported 35,77 BTC. The analysts noted that warrant exercises swelled the diluted share count and pressured BTC Yield, but with no $27 warrants remaining, they expect that selling pressure to ease. Strive also expanded its SATS preferred share offering to 7 million shares at $90 each, a $630 million raise expected to close Oct. 20, with enough cash set aside to cover 18 months of dividends and, per TD Cowen, room to fund more bitcoin purchases without issuing common shares.
4. MSCI finalizes rule that could boot Bitcoin treasury firms from major indexes URL: https://decrypt.co/381168/bitcoin-treasury-giant-strategy-faces-index-removal-under-finalized-msci-rules Published: 2026-10-16 01:16 PM CT Summary: MSCI finalized a rule treating non-operating companies as ineligible for its Global Investable Market Indexes, effective at the close of Nov. 30. The screen targets companies whose balance sheets are dominated by a single asset, a model pioneered by Strategy, which holds hundreds of thousands of bitcoin, and adopted by Japan's Metaplanet. Companies that fail an initial core screen face an exclusion test of five financial ratios, and a stock gets flagged if it trips four or more of them. Current constituents will only be removed if they fail the screen in two consecutive annual filings, and MSCI will publish the final list of affected companies on Nov. 11. Removal would force index-tracking funds to sell the affected shares, and Saylor called the rule discriminatory while Metaplanet sold 10,000 bitcoin and bought back 11,000 to demonstrate active treasury management.
