I seriously hopen this happens some day... we've seen 500% spikes occur in the past, but generally on BTC-E or from a glitch.

I want to see it happen for real. 20k market order LOL

lol going long on Huobi/OKcoin is oh so tempting , i doubt i could get 10x on my holdings, if i did i'd absolutely destroy their orderbook.

It's problem you face as a larger trader.. you have to trade against the momentum really

I wish I had the same problems, trading big amounts of coins will be my secret dream Tongue

I actually wish i had the slightest clue how to leverage trade, the pages just look like a foreign language to me, I have looked at Bitfinex a few times. Huobi seems to offer 200% leverage but i think they have very small volumes available. OKCoin doesn't seem to let you do anything until you're verified enough, which means verifying with ID ,so i didn't even get to see their page. Earlier articles say OKCoin were going to do 3x leverage, i didn't see anything about 10x.

I think the best way is to read about it as much as you can (mostly to understand the basic mechanics and the terminology, it is not that complex), then play with it with toy money, like 0.1 BTC. That way, even if you mess up you don't lose much. Bitfinex is quite nice for margin trading.

Hahah, yes, a 50k bidwall at $20,000

I wonder how long it would take for:

A: That to be eaten
B: The other exchanges to catch up (assuming the guy only bought on Bitstamp's orderbook, or something)

People would be so hesitant to believe the price really just went up 40 fold

I clicked to see what you were responding to and it seems to have been deleted.

Then I noticed there were no posts from Faiiiiling, Dump3er, etc.

Have the FUD spammers abandoned us? Maybe they didn't get paid.

I enjoy trading small amounts on small $10 swings.  If I make a bad call, it is easy to get out even or at a negligible loss.  Anything over 100-200 coins takes a different strategy, much better execution, and is usually higher risk.

True but leaving capital to trade 100+ coins laying around doing nothing also costs money, that's a cost of missing opportunity elsewhere.

Why risk trading?  Except obvious price movements, of course.
1k coins is .5M USD.  Within a year or two, you are likely to have 2M USD, and maybe more.

Remember, most traders lose money.

I would assume anyone with that amount of coins would know the answer to that question

I wouldnt risk it either...swing trading by hand would probably be most profitable
