I think this Apple pay thing is major good news that we haven't seen hit the price yet. It's like a rumbling in the distance, the thing we didn't see coming on our list of 2014 bubble catalysts. It's always that thing that does it. Hold on tight.
May be it's possible, we can't be sure, what is in the Apple pipeline for mobile payment. May be bitcoin or something else, it's not sure yet. Personally, I don't think it matters if Apple adds bitcoin or not. We've been trying to sell the idea of secure mobile payments to the masses since the inception of bitcoin. It's too convenient of an excuse that people don't want to buy a device to send/receive these kinds of payments, nobody is supporting it, and why do I need it anyways? Suddenly we have Apple stepping up to the plate simultaneously marketing the idea AND rolling out the infrastructure to make it ubiquitous. The idea that these efforts are in competition with bitcoin's success is incorrect. Ultimately from the end user perspective, you're going to be waving your phone around to pay for things soon. That's a reality. And ultimately you're going to be given a choice about how much fees you want to pay to do that. Even for people who don't understand or want to have anything to do with bitcoin, there will be intermediate services like Bitpay or Circle that can facilitate those transactions in the same manner as Apple, only using the bitcoin network as the backbone instead of credit cards, allowing for the exact same thing to happen for less fees. That's something everyone can get behind. So, in my opinion, we can be sure.

Apple pay is a further step in getting people ready for mobile payments. It takes a long time to change people's behavior. The same applies to payment behaviour. Whether Apple Pay becomes a success remains to be seen but it prepares the mind of people. Once they are hooked, they will certainly be charmed by lower payment fees of the Bitcoin network.
But alas, this whole thing needs more time than our enlightened brains need to see it. It could take a generation....
That's why my view on Bitcoin, any view, only starts of 2018. HODL...

Very well said, and I am fully agree with you, what you wrote all. People think here that when new big merchant accept the Bitcoin as payment, price will going to moon because merchant is very big and new people start using bitcoin, but they don't understand merchant accepting bitcoin won't effect much for short term because merchants converting Bitcoin in fiat asap they get the bitcoin. One of the reason so much pressure these days on Bitcoin price.

The path to $100,000 BTC
-> Apple launch own payments system [check] Sept 9
-> PayPal sign posts to the market it is doing something to counter with BTC [check] Sept 8-10
-> More traders take notice of BTC [check] Sept 10
-> Samsung, thinks it needs to enter the game with BTC.
-> Sony has to keep up and launches BTC for gamers
-> Every trader takes a stake in BTC
-> Pension funds buy as much BIT and COIN as they can get their hands on
-> Warren Buffett changes his mind on BTC
-> Retail investors buy as much BTC, BIT and COIN as they can
-> Microsoft thinks about buying all the BTC, but decides to create MSN Coin
-> We [who have BTC] all live happily ever after
-> Bitcoin will be used as global reserve currency
I've read it 10 times. Although I'm sceptic with the last point... Made a minor edit. I think reads better now. Thanks. You're welcome (did an extra addition) Wired and other publications all agree - Apple Pay will push others towards Bitcoin adoption. Based in London, doesn't accept £GBP? Yeah I noticed that.... probably something to do with the retarded UK banks being not very bitcoin friendly... despite the guberment making coo'ing noises at Bitcoin...(it is all good and well Osbourne harping on about London becoming a hub for cryptocurrency, but maybe he should tell the bloody banks) I have heard of a few people that have gone face to face with their bank manager and managed to get an account to use for BTC related business.. however as a whole , at the moment, they are not very friendly...... YET. Though I really do not think it will take too much longer before a notable precedent is set. In the meantime I recommend people in the UK contacting their local MP's and letting them know of the troubles they have had opening an account for BTC/Cryptocurrency releated business or even to purchase BTC, also contacting the financial ombudsman and doing like wise, as there are no laws against BTC in the UK, so there should legally speaking be nothing in the way of getting access to banking facilities in the UK for cryptocurrency related businesses.

To add to this: Bitcoin in terms of payments in the first world is mostly about cutting fees. This will (not could, will) be a major reason for the large payment processors to step into this arena. Problem: you can't compete with (near) zero, as Amazon is slowly learning in their line of business. Margin compression all over, and I think this will happen with payment processing as well. However, this is not the most interesting part of Bitcoin. The real innovation (from my perspective) is Bitcoin's programmability. Programmable money that - in a far future - can even be used by autonomous machines without central interference. That's a far more promising feature than shoving some 'value' from A to C against the lowest fee possible.

So, what do you guys think: Will we break 490 USD/3000 CNY in the next couple of hours? Seems there were a few tries but it's not staying above. On stamp it's only 70 btc to go to 490 usd, but on huobi it's almost 1700 btc till 3000... I'm hoping we can keep the momentum!

The most interesting part of Bitcoin is that it's the best form of money yet invented by humanity, because it finally neutralizes the printing press. Programmability, fast transactions, low fees - they are all just secondary benefits. Freedom from government-managed money is what makes Bitcoin important.
