Xiaomi CEO said that he will buy 100000 coins if the price hit 1000 CNY.

a last desperate attempt for pumping the price, who the fuck cares what he will/wish/want to do ?

weeee  Cheesy

so by the looks of it 340 should become resistance for at least a month or so?

That's what the theory says, if long term support is broken, it should become major resistance.
But if the rebound is around the corner, this may not apply.

I know there are lot of phones there, I lived in Africa for two years.
But you still need Smartphone+Internet, a normal phone can't be used to send/receive bitcoin safely without having to leave that bitcoins in a 3rd party wallet or need to register online for the first time.

Nonsense. You couldn't host the blockchain but all but the most basic feature phones are perfectly capably of running a java mobile wallet.

On the other side of things.. Why would whales (traders) leave BTC market? There is a huge amount of money to be made in BTC so why leave.
They aren't leaving, just selling now to buy more later.

Source? Other than your hopes, delusions and fantasies?
I thought this is a speculation thread. If you're looking for sources here you are definitely lost in the wrong section.

If you are posting facts than i like to see a source. Maybe stop acting like this are facts?
Where did you see facts? All I'm posting are my personal opinions.
Just like someone said before, start quoting sources yourself before asking others to do it Wink

we'll have cheap coins for years to come after all this.

Nah, just some 6 - 9 months. Of course, if BTC isn't banned in the meantime... Roll Eyes

AFAIK, it is not correct to say that "merchants immediately convert BTC to dollars".  They generally get dollars through bank transfer.  It is the payment processor (BitPay, CoinBase, ...) that sells the coins.

Merchants may have the option to receive the bitcoins; but, given the price decline, I doubt that any use that option.

If anyone wants, head on over to trading view for bitstamp and look at the monthly chart.

Just turn on the volume indicator.

The next level supported by volume and closing price is ~200.  Also in that monthly view, you can see that Sept. closing below 450 support on increasing selling volume from August is a major trend confirmation for the dead cat bounce off the ATH.

I would not be shocked to see the price break major support at 200 and test the coming out party (april 2013) closing highs in the 140ish range.

140-200 is when I would expect to get back to massive consumer adoption.  Hopefully the price will stabilize at one of these levels and become extremely boring so that all the infrastructure investment can be put to good use.

well its just broken its previous low of 339 this year... hit as low as 324 .... it's not looking good this winter.  It might go below 250 and stabilize around 100-200.  I've be reiterating the fact that the previous bubbles all included MTGOX.  There was obviously market manipulation going on, BIG TIME.  They were the biggest exchange.  Also China was around.  Do you know how easy it is for china to mess with this market?

with the scumbags gone, this thing is just going to settle like mud in a pond.
