I looked into CryptoInsiders past posts. He has made 'pump' comments about Lisk just as others (his alts I guess) have done for ICONOMI. These are the exact same phrases like "the price increase will be of biblical proportions", "massive magnitude", "celestial dimensions" etc. I remember these EXACT same phrases on the ICONOMI thread! So I think this is a group of people or just 1 person with a large number of alternative accounts who works like this: Buys a coin -> Spreads FOMO/high price expectations -> price increases -> sells high -> spreads FUD and drops the price again to buy low.

It's obvious from the posting style/history that these accounts (and many others) were all operated by the same pump/dump group:

You can see they invented the "Feb. 9 announcement" rumor then pumped that rumor on slack, reddit, and BCT from dozens of accounts.

This group may have been behind the 1M ICN fake buywall on Kraken.

The fake buy wall was removed 5 February.  The accounts started fudding on 6 February, then turned up the intensity/frequency of the fudding starting from 8 February.

This leads me to assume it is a well-funded group that has at least 400 BTC to set buy walls with, and probably a similar amount of ICN as well.  

This means they can make the Kraken orderbook/chart show whatever they want.  They can transfer a large amount to Kraken then dump to their own buy walls to create panic if they have more than 1 Kraken account.

The fud this group is spreading is very ironic considering they may have broken US market manipulation and defamation laws.  Although, I have yet to see these laws applied to crypto.

It has been stated in Terms of Use  on Iconomi Website that you are responsible for local laws of your country.

Advertising in US wasn't illegal. They had used as networks like Adsense which showed ads to US people.

And, being not registered to offer investment in US doesn't make it Scam. And , IMO, no action would be taken on Iconomi by US until they are proved to be scam (which they aren't).


I would advise you to open your own moderated thread of Iconomi only for fudders.

At this point, I guess all of us can agree that the dev's time is better spent elsewhere than being wasted dealing with these FUDders.

So is it possible for us to get some of the trusted members to serve as "volunteer community managers" and help moderate this thread (and other social media pages where Iconomi has a presence)?

I'm just thinking ways we can help out the devs, so they can focus on actual development and not get distracted by these evil perpetrators of lies.

It's kind of getting harder having a serious discussion here without having one of the troll accounts twisting your words.  Although I'm still hoping someone would contact the BTT mod, and hopefully someone like mprep would step in, I'm not exactly sure what BTT's policy is in regard to relentless FUD campaign.

Thank you very much for responding to our suggestion.  

One reason I brought this up is because I thought the core Team members have more important things to do than wasting valuable time on trivial matter such as monitoring and moderating a BTT thread.

I understand that you might be reluctant to share the Iconomi account with community member because of Private Messages being sent to the official account. So I have a suggestion --

Is it possible for a trusted member (or a group of volunteers sharing a single account) to open a new self-moderated thread and lock this one, and you just use the main Iconomi account for announcement purpose, and let the community handle the rest (policing the thread and dealing with bad guys)...  I feel that tapping into the community and use it as a resource will be a good idea, especially now we're facing harassment from people with evil intention on a daily basis.

If you don't think it's a good idea and think it's too much of a hassle, don't worry about it.    It's just that I hate to see those evil doers taking up your valuable time.

PS: I second the motion and think "daparski" would be a good choice.  Get a community manager from the pool of trusted community members, so you won't need to waste your valuable time sifting through posts in this thread. Just my 2 cents' worth.
