At least, you made profit and that is a good trade to buy bitcoin at $2,500 and sell it for $6,000 and that is more than a x2 for your capital. You cannot totally conclude that saving bitcoin for a long time would benefit you because there are still some instances where as you wait for the price to rise, it falls more which ends up making you disappointed. I think saving for a very long time will only be applicable for those who are seeing that the value in the market is rising and there's no trouble occuring.

Of course we can conclude that, looking at the historical information about the price of bitcoin, that is the only logical conclusion we can arrive, if you held for a year your profits are great, and this is true if you held for 2 or 5 years as well, even those that bought at the top of the 2013 bubble if they still held they made a lot of money already, so even if a person bought today and the price crashed if that person held for 5 years there is a 99% chance that he earns a lot of money as well.
