Coin is mainly used for gambling and to transfer funds when bitcoin fees are too high. Other than this I don't see any other use, I don't see active development.
Current price is 0.007$ and if it hasn't increased value to 1$ in last 5 years I don't see how it will in future. Maybe some crazy 150X pump but even if someone pumps it to 1$ dump will follow shortly.

Yes. There is no other use for Dogecoin except using it for gambling, and micropayments. Seeing how Bitcoin has been rising in fees lately, Dogecoin would make a great addition for anyone who's looking to reduce costs when sending money around the world. It has faster speeds, cheaper fees, and most of all, a friendly and supportive community. I think that is what makes DOGE special and it is one of the reasons why it has managed to survive in the market today.

In crypto land, anything is possible, as we've seen coins that were forgotten suddenly rise in value within a short time frame. While the $1 goal for DOGE seems too far from becoming a reality, it may happen if development becomes active again, and the supply becomes reduced. Despite the valuation of Dogecoin, it will continue to become used among many crypto enthusiasts for years to come. In this sense, I believe that Dogecoin has a very bright future. Just my thoughts

In my opinion, cost of a coin is an important parameter to make a comment about its situation and potential for the future. Although it is an old coin, it has not reached even 1$. In my opinion, it has not a big chance for the future. On the other hand, there is nothing obvious in cryptocurrency world of course.

I hold some Dogecoin, I bought it on a whim on cryptopia, I had like 30 extra bucks so I bought some. I think if their is a strong dev team behind it continually improving things, marketing, wallets, etc. I could survive. I mean who doesn't like a coin with a cute dog on it?

I think its a more difficult question of these years. But the answer is probably Yes as it has more potential than the other kind of cryptocurrency and it is more cheap than the bitcoin tough it has a faster transaction when using it.I really like it because you can earn it for cheap and I think that its value will increase like the bitcoin. if the whole market is growing well dogecoin will have to grow

Agree. Every cryptocurrency has its time in the markets. Some will gain traction at a fast pace, while others take time before they become a hit in the mainstream world. In the case of Dogecoin, everything has been slow beginning from development to its valuation in the long term. Of course, it has managed to rise in value near the $0.01 mark, but it may take quite some time before it hits higher prices in the markets.

Despite all this, Dogecoin complements Bitcoin and other altcoins by delivering cheap fees, fast payments, and most of all, a friendly community. Given the years that it has managed to gather support from people around the world, I'd say that it will continue to live for many years to come. It has a very bright future and serves as a great introductory point to help newbies get started into cryptocurrency.

I'm hoping that someday in the future, there would be a community takeover for Dogecoin that would release a new up-to-date wallet with the latest features. Perhaps, a reduction in supply, SegWit adoption, the Lightning Network, and 2mb block size increase would further boost Dogecoin's appearance on the markets. But until that becomes a reality, it would be best to hodl DOGE for the short term, and look out for other cryptocurrencies that are best for long term investments. Just my opinion

Doge is a good coin I always use it transfering money from one exchange to another,cheap and quick transactions.Hope the Doge devs will continue supporting and updating this old and popular coin.
