I am new to VIA and very much interested in this coin. Infact I am new to the Cryptoworld.
So I am sorry for asking this lame question. After I generate a paper wallet from https://viacoin.github.io/address-generator/
where can I check the balance. I could not find an answer from google.
And if possible could someone please explain how to load VIA coins from paper wallet to an exchange wallet or an online wallet?

Hey guys,

I just got a bunch of viacoin myself and I want to get more involved in the community. I can't seem to add the viacoin telegram account, it keeps telling me that the user doesn't exist when I try to add from the telegram link.

Also would love to download the mac wallet, the link on github is also down currently.

Does anyone else also have these issues?

Havent checked it out but because its a paper wallet you will have to manually import the private key.  Dont know if exchange wallets this can be done.  You will need a wallet with an "importprivkey" function.  And welcome to crypto, you might have just landed yourself at the right place at the right time.

There are a lot of "communities" who use slack and telegram.  It is easier for quick conversation, slack as well.  I think romano has been updating here but with everything there isnt something to report each day, patience my man.

You should use the Viacoin Core wallet or Electrum. I do recommend the Core wallet always over Electrum. Since the core wallet is truly decentralized.

hello all, i'm new to the forum and also to the world of crypto's. I bought some VIAcoin to experiment, but there seems to be a problem:
The viacoin core wallet is out of sync. It says "no block sources available : 2 years and 47 weeks behind". This isn't moving so I guess there is a problem?

I transfered some VIAcoin and when I look in de chainblock explorer (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/via/tx.dws?4231364.htm) my 'stack' is 'not yet redeemed'. I searched Google what this means and seems that it isn't spend yet/used as an input, so the transaction is still on hold. Did I onderstand this correctly?

Does anyone know what I could do next to speed the proces up? Those VIAcoins are the only coins I have. For the moment my balance in the core wallet is 0. How can I spend coins to redeem the transaction while I have no coins?

Try it on your phone. Search for 'Viacoin' and you'll find the right channel.

I just tried that and I found the viacoinbot but nothing else in the global search. I'm thinking it's maybe because I'm in vietnam or that the channel might be full? I'll google around, just was hoping for a fast answer here.

Honestly you should use the service the market demands... I'm familiar with slack and am logged into 6 different coins.. I'm simply not gonna join telegram. I hold the coin anyways but the potential for it to gain value is hindered by not adopting the social media the market expects.   Some people like to go "against the grain" like that, so I respect your decision.

Well welcome to crypto.  First off you should be fine.  You dont see any of your coins yet because they were included in a block your wallet doesnt "recognize" yet.  You have to sync the blockchain to the point where those coins were included.  And to spend them your wallet needs to be fully synced up to the last block.  If you hover your mouse over the time remaining bar you should see it syncing blocks.  If not you are not connected.  Also go to the help button, then the debug button and check how many connections you have.  You can pm me to carry on the conversation if you need anything else.

I truly doubt that the value and/or price of the coin has anything to do with whether it uses a slack channel or not.
Actually we've just had a decent jump into the mid 30s.

You just cannot serve anyone with all the social media in existence. If it really bothers you, why not create an unofficial slack channel yourself?
