Update: Problem solved !  Grin

Here is what you should;
Go to BIOS and update the bios to 1.D version
then go to Settings>Advanced>PCI subsystem Setting
Above 4G Decoding set to Enabled
(thanks to Tummler for settings)

And very important thing:
U should use Skylake CPUs
If you use Kabylake u can mine only with 4 GPUs
I was in trouble because of that.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I've MSI Z170A Gaming M5 Mobo - https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z170A-GAMING-M5.html
It has 7 Pci-e slots but when i try to connect more than 4 gpus, i can't boot it.

First, I tried the latest BIOS driver - 1.D

Nothing changed

Then I tried these settings:
- Bios Version 1.C;

- Into BIOS
Settings>Advanced>PCI subsystem Setting
PEG 0 and PEG 1 set to Gen2
Above 4G Decoding set to Enabled

- Settings>Windows OS Configuration
Windows 8.1 / 10 = "Disabled"
Windows 7 = "Disabled"
MSI Fast Boot = "Disabled"
Fast Boot = "Disabled"

Nothing changed

Then I tried PEG0 and PEG1 set to Gen1

Nothing changed

Then tried several combinations of these settings but Nothing changed.
I can't boot more than 4 GPUs but i know its possible.
Can anyone help please? Maybe I need Custom BIOS like "Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon"?

Thank you

Did you try the settings you mentionned with BIOS 1.D as well?

As for Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon, there is no need for any sort of custom BIOS.
I downloaded the latest BIOS version and followed that guide https://forum.z.cash/t/msi-z170-7-gpu-bios-setting-step-by-step/14473

The problem is that you're running 470's...

You can't get more than 4 470's working in a single mobo without a little magic...you've got to use nvidia cards or 480's for the other gpu's.

Generally best to do 3-4 470's per build.

Those mobo's have the magic built in...I have the same problem with my Gigabyte mobo that should support 6...but only does 5.

you can do it with the 470's there is no difference in the driver and it is the same process if it is 470, 480 or nvidia.

My Z170a (gaming pro carbon) does 7gpu. I think this should work too but it may take some tinkering like mine did

There absolutely no difference with 470 cards.
Running rigs with 6 of them with no problems at all.

I think it is CPU based problem.
I'm using G4560 - Kaby Lake series CPU
Skylake series may not create a problem. ı'm gonna try and give you the results guys.

Have an MSI Z170A Gaming here as well, while I have no problems with other 170 boards that one causes real problems above 4 GPU, seeing PCI bus issues with the risers... Some others I have tried work much better...

Solved the issue. here is what i did;
Go to BIOS and update the bios to 1.D version
then go to Settings>Advanced>PCI subsystem Setting
Above 4G Decoding set to Enabled

But very important:
I was using Kabylake CPU (Pentium G4560)
Because of that i failed. Then i tried Skylake series CPU i3 6500 and boom. i mined with 7 GPUs.

If you use Kabylake u can mine only with 4 GPUs
I was in trouble because of that.
