De Jong deserves to be valued dearly by Barcelona because of his capacity as an important player in his current team. 80 million is not too expensive if we start to assess De Jong as a player with good potential who can contribute to the team in midfield. He's one of the best players in his position, but maybe Manchester United can't afford the cost.

The solution might be easy, leave De Jong and start hunting for some players like Maguire in the market. LOL

I do agree, De Jong is a good and all player, and he could be considered 80 million euro as well, but at the same time I understand not wanting to pay that much. In a world where they paid around 80 million for Sancho I could see why De Jong would be considered 80 million as well.

They are different positions but they are definitely close to each other for sure, and I believe that we should be considering 80 million as not too bad for De Jong but also too bad for Uniteds coffers and they just do not have that much to pay for one position and walk away. They need to make a ton of transfers and can't pay that much for just one player who won't solve any of their problems.

They have been accused of recruiting some players that some of the past managers never wanted. I actually understand why they are trying to sell this player and my assumptions were clear after I heard that they asked for 80 million euros for this player from Manchester United.

I think they are obviously trying to make the defense strong and for that to happen they need to buy at least two defenders. and if they can sell him for 80 million euros they will be able to get two defenders for that money. But, I don't think Manchester United is going to pay 80 million for this player. So, Barcelona can keep him in the squad and bring someone else beside him.

Real madrid have one of the best Frontlines at the moment. The Los Blancos have Benzema, who is a sharp attacker and he knows how to position infront of goal. They also have the one making the moves from the wing for them which is Vini Jnr and Rodrygo. These young lady are doing an impressive job for the team.  Rodrygo scored and levelled the game for them against Manchester city who thought that they have already knock-out real Madrid from the semi-finals. Rather did they know that Madrid had goal machineries. Benzema still have 2-3 years to stay at the club, which he has struggled so hard to work on himself and he has been called up by deschamps for world cup at Qater., It's a good news for the Frenchman.
