Seems like Unai Emery still wants to prove that he can also be successful as a coach in England and that he is not done with the Premier League yet. In my opinion Emery is among the top 10 coaches in football at the moment and i also think that he was treated with a lot of disrespect during his first stay as a coach in England when he coached arsenal. A lot of people made fun of him just because his pronunciation of some english words sounded funny, but that does not mean that he is not able to coach the players properly. Graham Potter has said on several occasions related to bringing in new arrivals in the winter transfer window. he said he was not thinking about it at the moment, but did not rule out bringing in a newcomer, and it would be related to the needs of their team.

This whole policy will not work in the current environment where there are a lot of clubs on the market that are either throwing money (PSG, City) or have large accumulated cash reserves (Real Madrid and some others) or will soon start throwing money (Newcastle). When a player has the choice to receive a signing bonus of tens of millions of dollars, he will not think about the status of Bayern, but will choose money (however, there are many clubs with commensurate status).
