I think the salary was one of the major problems during last summer. On the one hand there was trouble with the cub management and that they didn't want to let him go, but there were also rumors and several interviews of other managers stating that the salary Ronaldo is asking is just too high. That is when I thought that that was the time when he could already have made the decision and cut down on his salary severely, let Manchester United get a decent transfer fee and then they might have let him go. Napoli are currently top of the Serie A table playing free-flowing football. For over many years now I have never since Napoli play this way.
