I'm sure he will succeed if he happens to handle this Liverpool team. The club will treat him with lots of respect and wouldn't put players ahead of him. To be honest, it's difficult to evaluate the current coach because even the previous coach was facing a similar problem with the team. The current coach is very skillful and has simply been unlucky with signings and hasn't been able to strengthen the defense. This defensive problem is a very old one.

I think the coach needs more time to see if he can improve the defense by the end of the season. If the situation worsens and Liverpool finishes the season in a low position, then the board will be within their rights to dismiss the coach. I think at least that’s what they actually were trying to do. By seeing off Arne Slot off until the summer before making up decisions but the availability of Alonso and the consistent poor performance is making them look more of not actually going with their initial plans. I think the Liverpool hierarchy actually fears that the club if reluctant to actually sack Slot might actually cause them the champions league spot which would be bad for them. For me i think if the poor performance actually continues with Slot losing like two more games in space of even four games then he would have used up all his credit left with Liverpool.

I wanted to answer you on the player who would regret ever joining Manchester United but from what you said I think I should let it be because you said it all. True Manchester United are in a good shape and many players would love to join them but still I don't think we should trust them with the games they have won, they act like a switch without control and you can't tell when they'll perform well or not, that's the Red Devils for you, a team that lacks consistency in the game. United are not targeting any trophies at the moment, they are in another season of survival  But on the other hand, United still remains a big brand and one of the most popular clubs in the world. And let's be objective, their financial capabilities are also significant enough to attract football players of any level. As for transfers "aimed at titles," there are no such guarantees for anyone in the Premier League—look at what happened to Liverpool, or City the year before. It’s hard to predict how players will react to a change of coach. Just look at Real Madrid and Manchester United, after sacked their managers, the team started playing much better. You're absolutely right, it's a gamble and it makes sense, especially since the Premier League is much tougher than La Liga, it will also require Xabi Alonso to give more than he gave at Real Madrid. on the other hand, is still a relatively new coach, and managing Liverpool isn't much different from Madrid. what is actually the difference between Manchester united and the Chelsea that Cole palmer is leaving? in terms of their position on the table and the likelihood of either of them ending well at the end of the season, there is no different between both team at all because they are both teams that are struggling to find her foot even till this moment.

As much as palmer has grown to almost become a legend of the Chelsea football club, we just have to learn how to accept their decision and know that apart from what we expect of them, there is also what they want out of every and any club they are currently playing for and that is the key factor that always influence where they end up deciding that they are going to stay or exit.
