Your card is ~250w from the wall, you need to undervolt it!

Well the idea was to tune the hashrate first, the power consumption after.. Unless undervolting is part of the tuning to get the max hashrate?

Can you post the custom timings string? These of course are the same chips as before some optimum strings have already been found, but I like this one due to only needing 2100 MHz Smiley Very nice target to get 30.5 MHs

Its Samsung memory using Uber Mix straps from the Polaris Bios Editing main thread (google).

Might have missed it in this thread but just to confirm: UberMix v3.1 strap mod copied over all straps above 1500 for your Sapphire ?

Cheers

What dcri value do you use to get these hashrates?

Apneal / Truthchanter

Thanks to you both for all the useful information, only recently got back into GPU mining and I seem to have forgotten everything I used to know and lots of things are new Smiley

Fired up my old 7950's that had been gathering dust and I got some new MSI RX580 Gaming X 8Gb cards and they come with Samsung Memory.

All I have done so far is copy the 1:1750 strap to the 1:2000 strap, currently using -cclock 1135 -cvddc 975 -mclock 2150 and getting much better results than stock of around 30MH and 100w per card ETH mining only, the problem I am having is when I try to dual mine with decred. My numbers go to pot, the ETH mining speed drops significantly to around 28MH even when the DCR speeds are much lower than yours around 600.

Could either of you share your claymore command lines to see if I am doing anything obviously wrong.

Also that doreymills site that was linked earlier, my original 1:1750 strap is
Code:
777000000000000022CC1C00106A6D4DD0571016B90D060C006AE70014051420FA8900A0030000001B11333DC0303A17
and it gives me
Code:
777000000000000022CC1C00106A5D4DD0571016B90D060C0060070014051420FA8900A0030000001011333DC0303A17

Do I copy the new one to both the 1:1750 and 1:2000 or just one of them, or do I do the 1:1750 then use the tool on the 1:2000 and get a new value for that too ?

TIA

My guy. How in the hell do you get claymore commands to work. It crashes my rig. One of my rigs i got it to work. i have several identical builds and for some reason something is blocking or taking control of the clocks and won't let claymore change the clocks or volts without crashing. Like bad crashes too.. hard locks. video artifacts.

what am i missing here.. I've been trying to figure out why i can't use claymore commands on any of my builds for over a year. But one rig does work. i'm lost. please help

i try even just -cclock 1250

You don't have to have all 3  cclock mclock and the volts set?

Regarding doreymills: Yes, you can to copy the new one to both 1:1750 and 1:2000. I think it will give you about 0.5-1 mhs extra speed.

I know people had issues with RX570/580 and 7 cards.

Are people able to run with 7 or 8?

Powercolor RX 580 red Devils are hashing at 26MH stock for me...760 DCR.....have not gotten into the Bios just yet....normally thats out of my realm...MSI afterburner only...

Also on another note....i have some old R9 290Xs hashing at 27Mh as well.....just using afterburner....

Where is the best place to track down the Bios mods?

Hi all,
I got six RX580 nitro+ 8gb gpus.

I am complete newb tuning wise.

What should I do?

Should I use windows (7?10?) or ubuntu?

What miner?
Which pool is the best? solo or pool mining for this hashrate power?

Where can I find bios modded for mining to flash cards?

which software you use to tune them?

Any help would be appreciated if you have time to help me out

Hey all, I'm planning on building 3rigs with 6 Sapphire rx580 nitro + on each rig.
Any idea on which bios mod / driver I should be using ? The goal is 30mh eth rate per card

What are  the dual mine speeds? (stock and modded). All topics only mention ETH mining..

I've been continuing to tweak and also optimizing for dual mining.

So far:

Eth: 30.5 Mh/s
Dcr: 1130 MH/s
VDDC: 0.877
Core: 1300
Mem: 2100
Mem voltage: 0.9
Strap: Custom mix
Mem Errors: 0/min
Power: 125W

NOTE: If you don't undervolt/limit power, it easily dual mines 30.5 MH/s + 1450 MH/s Dcr

Ya but when I dual mine eth/dcr my kill a watt reads 1400 watts at wall with 6 rx 480's. Anyone else using this much wattage? My psu is a evga 1300, so as a result of this I only mine eth.

very usefull info!.. if i take a 480 to the same numbers 1300 clock - 2100 mem, can i get the same Mh ?

Sorry if I missed it, but what is your custom mix of straps?

Hello, I am quite new to the mining. I have been mining since nov 2016 with a rx480 for 8 months now with an xfx 480 that I run @ 1263 core and 2175 mem.
Got ~27 mhs from it.

I just bought an xfx gtr-s 580 and tried to overclock the memory.
I don't know if I just got a crapy manufactured memory chip set for this card  Undecided, but here is the details.

GPU-Z:
Mem clock: 2000
Memory Controller Load: ~84%

Eth mining ~22.4 mhs !!!

GPU-z:
Mem clock: 2005-2160
Memory Controller Load: ~54%

Eth mining ~18 mhs

Once I try to overclock the mem the perf goes down.

The mem info from GPU-Z is
entry 1:
gddr5
autodetect

entry 2:
gddr5
Samsung
K4G80325FB

entry 3:
gddr5
Hynix (wtf)
H5GQ8H24MJR

I would have expected the same brand for the mem. Someone have the same situation with the same card?

Yes! I'm having this issue as well.  I tried all sorts of timing mods and the only one that seemed to work and was stable was 2:1750 -> 2:2000.  I'm still under 25 MH/s with dual mining, and no matter what overclocking I do on the memory, it drops...  Would love if someone could help here.

I'm using Gigabyte RX580 8G Gaming with Samsung memory.

You may use my specs and adjust accordingly, maybe it was not so good but at least it's a good place to start. It takes few days for me to found sweetspot for my card.

Ignore the temp as it is enclosed in CPU chassis without enough ventilation, I am waiting for Scythe fan to arrive to blow the heat away.

Using Uber-Mix Extreme v3.1 from OC.net

Code:
777000000000000022CC1C00AD615C41C0590E152ECC8608006007000B031420FA8900A00300000010122F3FBA354019

You may try using your own timing from 1:1750 and paste it to 1:2000 , result should be similar.

MSI Afterburner :

-96 mV core voltage limit
+30% Power Limit (well I guess this doesn't help but I just put it in)
1192-1198 MHz core clock
2075-2085 MHz memory clock

If you think that the core clock is not important for ETH mining, then you are dead wrong. So don't set the core clock too low either.

For Claymore configuration : use -asm 1 and -dcri 33 , i seen much improvement on compared to the screenshot above with ETH on 30.4MHs and DCR on 1000MHs

Good luck and if you think my post is helpful, feel free to donate some ETH/DCR for me!

ETH : 0x2345988e664AB0b2608185578623c5f252a40a17
DCR : DsoL8UaDLdjAsPZCAb6H87RDNtpPRSMnDWu
