There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I have one question to make my situation clear and expect clear answer. How did this snapshot works which weekly distributed ? What is the status of wallet if I qualified for one of the early snapshots and still didn't claim BTX coins and don't want at this time ? Can I claim at some point later in future just like normal forks or here is some special condition ?

Make sure you backup your wallet file every time you send or receive coins or you will lose them if you restore from an old wallet.dat backup.

I don't think that's true. Bitcoin Core and all other forks, are creating like 50 change addresses at the start. So your old wallet.dat contains your 50 future transaction's change addresses. There was a command, which was creating another bulk of addresses, so you can do backups every year or so without worrying that you are using brand new, never backed up change addresses.

Hey, Guys! Did you forget HITBTC issues when BTX was listed here?
Many people had withdrawal issues for amounts more than 100BTX. As I remember withdrawals were completed in several weeks, so maybe HITBTC is better than Cryptopia now but it's not good at all. So maybe cryptobridge is the best now but only for small amounts.
I was the one that got the HitBTC listing but the reason that HitBTC could not process withdrawals was that it’s hot wallet was not stocked but now it has 17k BTX in it. Cryptobridge is a decentralized exchange and it is honestly the future of crypto in being a DEX. Both are now better options then Cryptopia... HitBTC also has he extra added benefit of giving us Changelly if there is enough volume.

Bitcore Core Wallet: Classic design available

Dear Bitcore community,

In case you feel unconfortable with the bright pink colouring of the new core 0.15.0.2 Bitcore core wallet (also known as Bitcore-QT), we are now providing installers for the classic design.

Simply choose which version you prefere:

Bitcore Classic
- Windows
- Linux

Bitcore Pink
- Windows
- Linux

Note: Mac users please download core 0.14 from Github, we will be releasing Core 0.15 soon.

You can also go to the official Github for the direct downloads: https://github.com/LIMXTEC/BitCore/releases

- Your Bitcore team

Oh man.. I just came across this message. I already downloaded the Mac 0.15.0.2 wallet 2 weeks ago and it's been working fine. I had to install boost in order to make it work though.  Should I re-install the 0.14 wallet or I'm ok with the new one?

I waited all day to get airdrop yesterday, sadly it did not happen. I had over 1 BTX on account and have registered wallet, is there anything that can be done to avoid this situation next week? or should I contact someone?.

Did you check you registered wallet address with the blockexplorer? http://insight.bitcore.cc/
How much BTX are shown there?

oh did not expect this, yeah the adress I put in Airdrop had 0 BTX, but the adress I recieved money had 1 BTX, so I messed up - I thought it didnt matter what adress I put in. anyway thx for clarifying ! Smiley

How would they know your other addresses? They are random and no way to know one from another address. All addresses are independent. Make sure you backup your wallet file every time you send or receive coins or you will lose them if you restore from an old wallet.dat backup.

So you are saying that we must backup our wallets after every airdrop that we get in our wallets?
That seems strange because if I use/reuse same address for every transactions I should be good with just one backup of my wallet no matter when I backed-up my wallet file.

No, that is not what I said. Airdrops are to an address you already had so if you backed up already the airdrop coins are safe. If you generate a new receive address or send coins which generates a new change address, then you need to backup again as the new private keys are not in the previous backup(s). Receiving to an existing, backed up address is not a problem. Many people lost BTC in the early days because they did not understand change address or the need to backup every new address and only had an old backup. If an HD (Heuristically Determined) wallet then all you need is the seed, but BTX core is not an HD wallet.

i feel with you.
but sadly that's the way it works most of the times.
those who would deserve something don't get it and those who take the very easy way and support it with scammy ways (i.e fake accounts) get way more than they deserve.
therefore i don't take part in these kind of "contests" anymore.
if you think that people would recognize the cheap and quick work with low quality and therefore wouldn't vote for it, you are wrong unfortuantely.
so better don't invest too much work and time into such a thing.
especially on the internet are many professional scammers from certain countries who are very experienced in getting money in a immoral and unethical way.
Yeah I think lesson learned once again, I keep falling into these traps wasting my time on pointless things that your only going to get cheated with but its all good fun, if you don't make mistakes you don't learn is how I see it.

I would like to have seen the winners links to their profiles though just to see if they are even active.

Anyway thanks for the reply its seems nobody else gives a shit and therefore just skipped past my post, a reply from anyone in the BTX team would have been nice seen as though they just locked the winners thread so nobody could query it further. as a few members said the winning banner is to big for some ad units, I hope this is the case lol that would be a nice bit of karma Cheesy

When exactly we can call Cryptopia "scam"? I mean, they pay/deposit 10% of total times.. It is not enough to call an exchanger scam? If so, can we report it to someone? They are real, have legal activities and all.. We must do something, no?
Who exactly are you going to report to, this market is unregulated there is nobody to report to! They are real, they aren't scamming otherwise they would have done it by now, they just have tons of stuff to do probably. Sad to say but there isn't anything we can do except talk with your wallet and go to another exchange. This is also why BTX should have more than a handful exchanges, so we can't be held hostage like this!

True, this market is unregulated but some registered company cannot scam. Look at Coinbase and other BIG.. they can't scam cause they will have some REAL legal problems, and as far as i know, also Cryptopia is registered as a legal company in some country ( don't remember wich one).

Cryptopia is registered in New Zealand, if I'm not mistaken.

But I still wouldn't trust them with either my life or my wife. So don't put a lot of hope into regulation. Once there was an exchange called Crytpsy (as in Craptsy). They scammed and they scammed big. And they did face REAL legal problems up to a point of paying back money to their clients. But bitcoin had grown a few times by the time the court ordered to pay something like 8 million dollars in damages to their customers.

I have tested cryptopia on january 17th, took like 1.5 hours for the deposit to appear and 1.5hours for the withdraw to appear in my wallet. What exactly happens there now? Is their wallet unsynced ? Are the deposits delayed as well or just the withdrawals ? I have tried other coins, like btc, doge, ntrn, eth they all worked fine (eth was slow to accept deposits, took maybe 1hour). Is this delay only for BTX withdrawals? Go on their IRC webchat http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=cryptopia-ex&nick=typeyournickhere and write them support tickets, try to be short and to the point without cursing or blaming (I do it too and it never helps).

From what i noticed it looks like its on a 30 Min cron and processes the smallest transactions first and pushes large transaction down the line until their wallet can payout. It was a good system on lower volume and a larger hot wallet, but with BTX and everyone trying to pull the coins out, the hot wallet got tapped. So basically speaking BTX is mostly in peoples personal wallets, not exchanges. BTC/ETH and other coins are ussually day traded and sit on exchanges for a while so their wallet is always full enough to pay out. Thats maybe why they withheld for the airdrop, to get enough coins to pay off their pending transactions.

Maybe devs not understand, if won`t be new big exchanges (with big volume) that the coin will be died. Now airdrop allows BTX hold on the marketplace , but after , what will be after airdrop ends  ?

These distributions were some kind of inflation which is going to stop also a reason of fear of being dumped. Price will start reacting very good not within hours but over the time with more constantly. After all it contains Bitcoin barnd's name which is going to play its role finally.

Bitcoin barnd's name use 1000 other altcoins and it does not give any advantages. Coin must have some technical feature or been very popular ( has a lot of exchanges) if it not have one of this things it is waiting for oblivion , it is my opinion

P.S.: Did you notice how long the last deal on this stock exchange was? Do not you worry that it was January 7?
