there will be an hard fork if this will be mined by asic in the future?

Given the makeup of Bitcore's algo, I wouldn't think it would be profitable, nor effective at ASIC development.

They can change the parameters of the hashing fairly easy I believe and keep resistance.

That sounds too good to be true.  Everyone would be doing it.

Well Bitcore is the best at what they do so.... =P

Maybe one of the devs can answer this cause it’s really important.  TIA

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I mean it is hard to create ASIC for 10 algos at one moment.

The PoW algo is listed in the OP.  But nothing is ASIC proof.

My papa taught me something important when I was little.  He said, anything one man can do another man can undo.

Trust me, any PoW algo can be defeated by ASICS.

As a doctor of computer science I agree with you. But who will buy ASIC that can mining TimeTravel10 with 3x cost of PC?

That’s dependent on the future value of BTX.

I think ASICS will be built en masse.

Having some ASIC's in a network is good for security, hashpower, and diversity.

Having it one sided and dominated in the network is bad for decentralization.

If it gets to the point BTX is being threatened by ASIC's then it's probably a good day because it means it's profitable enough to develop one.

True but I think it’s already on the way.  I read today that Samsung already has an ASIC chip to beat GPUs.  To me that sounds like an ASIC that can greatly enhance BTX’s security.

GPU's have always been the latest public innovation for enthusiast so I don't see mining going away from them anytime soon.

There will be bigger and better things, but availability makes it a longer road then most think.

The real key to GPU mining is adoption.   More likely to have disbursed and scattered hashrate.

So a lot of the big coins start on a small scale and move up over time.

I've been reading the drama a little over at Siacoin and how Bitmain silently released an ASIC along side their Obelisk miners, so it can be a problem if not sorted out.

But still...with all the improvements Bitcore team made over original Bitcoin chain, I'm sure they could come up with a solution to break ASIC's if there was a confirmed rumor of one on the network Smiley

"Yobit pump alert software" Link in my signature!

I hope someone can help me. I have a Radeon pro duo, with sgminer 5.6.1 (nicehash), and when I launch the bat file, it just sits at a black window with "started sgminer 5.6.1". It stays there for about a minute, then the whole windows goes black, and nothing else happens.

I used Nvidia ccminer for years, but first time using AMD. Nvidia needs cuda. Does AMD need something else?

The card does work. I game on it all the time.

Here is my .bat file.

Code:
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
set GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
sgminer.exe -k timetravel10 -o stratum+tcp://btx.suprnova.cc -u vegasguy.1 -p 1 --gpu-platform 1

I DID download OPENCL. No change.

Any help appreciated.

I want to make sure everyone knows that I just released my software called "Yobit pump alert". THis is custom software that uses an algo to detect the start of a pump here on yobit, the second it starts. YOu can even filter the coins you see by price. Most pumps start less than 100 sats , so you can easily filter the cheap coins, so they are the only ones displayed Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1945937.msg20241953#msg20241953

Hi i have AMD (RX480) and the same sgminer here is my config file and i have no problem.

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

sgminer.exe --kernel timetravel10 -o stratum+tcp://bitcorepool.cc:1111 -u WALLET_HERE -p x -I 19

Interesting... I was updating my excel sheet today and the calculation shows, that thanks to the compound interest, The amount of BTX that I have today will be doubled if the airdrop ends 1st week in may. That means, even if price goes to 5 USD after the airdrops, I am still not at loss.

will not go down to 5 usd
I do not think anybody gives away coins to be heights of the airdrop

and when the airdrop ends the big exchanges will come, you should not worry

the airdrop is being used to overcome effort tests in the bitcore network

I do not think that when the airdrop ends, the price drops too much, since the risk is really to keep the airdrop for the 4 months it takes,

honestly I do not think that when I finish the airdrop everything evaporates

Can anyone tell me (even if mere speculation) why BTX to a huge plunge? Undecided

1440 minutes in a day = 576 BTX blocks x 3.12 = ~1800 BTX a day inflation.

Take around 240k BTX distributed weekly airdrop and that is ~34.2k per day inflation.

So the reason why price dropped is because it can no longer handle the inflation rate, once it settles down over the next few weeks, the only thing left will be mining, which is low, so the price will start to climb again, this time not being pushed back.

1800 BTX being introduced daily is a very small amount.  Take notes and I hope to see you on the upward swing Smiley

Interesting point of view, I totally agree and wish I could send you some merits :p
