Downloaded new wallet (v0.15.1.0-gba8ed3a93be 32-bit) and creted new address with it.
Tried to copy it to suprnova but it says "Failed to update your account: Invalid coin address".
Doing something wrong?

Doesn't matter because the BTX project and coin is dead.

Bitcore project more alive than all living! You probably do not know that altcoins are falling in price much more than BTC. And the fact that all the coins (tokens) of ICO after the release of pamping and dumping, and then in need a lot of time to recover.

Important update: Bitcore Public Keys


Dear Bitcore community,

Due to potential roadblocks with many hardware and service providers, we have come to the conclusion that it is necessary for us to change the public key prefix. Since we use the same prefix as bitcoin ("1", "3" and "bc1"), we decided that Bitcore BTX should use the following new prefixes:

Wallets 1xxx -> 2xxx
Wallets 3xxx -> sxxx
Wallets bc1 -> btx

We would like to ask all Bitcore users to slowly but surely upgrade to the new system.
To do so, please follow these steps:
1. Open your Bitcore core / Bitcore-QT wallet.
2. Create a backup of your wallet.dat and store it in a safe place. For example a USB-Stick that you later put in a safe-deposit box.
3. Download the latest wallet and replace the wallet.dat that will be created on startup with your old wallet.dat
4. Bitcore-QT will automatically create new public keys for your private keys, starting with 2xxx instead of 1xxx.
5. It is important to note, that you can only use your old public keys to send to other old addresses and vis versa - you can send only to the new format from the new format. The address formats are not interchangeable.

Please note that the private keys are in no way affected by this change. Any private key is fully compatible with both the old formatting as well as the new one.

The new wallet, supporting the new format only, is still in beta mode but can be download and tested via the official github:

Note: There will be an official release soon. Meanwhile here is a basic tool, to convert old addresses to the new 2xxx format: https://limxtec.github.io/btx-convert/

We also want to inform you that there's no rush to update, we set a timeframe of 3 months in which we want to complete the transition. After this period bitcore core 0.16 will be released which will only use the new public keys.

So say you don't update and send funds from old wallet.What happens?

Bitcore Core (bitcore-qt) will not allow it. So basically, when you have the new wallet installed supporting 2xxx addresses and you want to send to a 1xxx, it simply won't let you finish the transaction. This is also true vis versa from old Bitcore core to the new one.

We have now released a new Bitcore Core (bitcore-qt) version, fully supporting the new pub key format.
Addresses change automatically as follows:
1xxx -> 2xxx

This version is not backwards compatible, meaning you can not interact with the old addresses.

the only wy of switching from old to new wallet is DUMPPRIVKEY and then IMPORTPRIVKEY. do i need to do this with all of my private keys or we can import old wallet.dat by any means?

edit: i read posts, and now i understand that old wallet.dat can be used.

An conversion rate (number of wallets)/(all wallets) and naming the exchanges who are using 2x adresses would be nice.

Otherwise you buy some btx auf 1xwallets send to new created 1xwallet (if its still possibel) and converting this to 2x and then send the btx to yout own 2x wallet.

This is very problematic the way it is being implemented. I am leaving my coins in the old wallet until this is all ironed out.

FYI: I just have wallet backups no running wallet in my PC.

this is number one rule for #HODL
but keep in my mind that always do that with funds that you might not need in near future, because in that case, you may face huge loss

Just use the conversion tool until the exchanges upgrade to the new wallet.  Then I assume your wallet will reflect the new prefix.  They are interchangeable.    Here is a demo of the new wallet with the new address being used.  This was shared on Telegram by Bitcore team.

i have my btx on original old btc key .. with this update i need move it or i can hodl my btx con old btx (1btc...) old address ? thanks for reply and help this community
