Ok, I'm still on 15.02 from before the address change. I'm currently mining on yiimp.eu to my address.
If I now update my wallet, my public address will be changed to the new format, but will I still receive the coins from mining?

Is there anything else I have to keep in mind when upgrading?

What is this?
Freiexchange.com looks a strange one.
Has it had secured, stable, reliable platforms for traders?
BitCore is a good project, which experienced long journey to reach current posistion in crypto world.
Therefore, I think BitCore team should only ask for listing the coin on big exchanges.

hmm, that is a big question yet to be responded, i read the news yesterday too, but still have doubts what to do,
for now i think  i will leave my old wallet as it was and get a new wallet on Electrum to use from now

unless there comes an update from devs to clear the fog.
but as btx had got my biggest invest, i still support the project to see if it can goes back to January 2018  Sad

Isn't it possible to just import old private key in new wallet to get new public key? Huh

That should be possible. The private keys do not change. When you import your private keys, you get a new public key, for your old private key.  Wink

http://btx.elitehash.net is still running the old wallet format. I'm at a loss now, how are pools supposed to upgrade? Or exchanges for that matter... Everyone is still using the old version, what are we supposed to do?

I'm currently developing an experimental social AI platform

Thanks, but I think this might also be important for other users. And since this thread is pretty active, I'd like to get an answer here.

Please note that the private keys are in no way affected by this change.[/b] Any private key is fully compatible with both the old formatting as well as the new one.
---snip---
The new wallet, supporting the new format only, is still in beta mode but can be download and tested via the official github:
---snip---
We also want to inform you that there's no rush to update, we set a timeframe of 3 months in which we want to complete the transition. After this period bitcore core 0.16 will be released which will only use the new public keys.
old/new format = old/new public address, correct?
I probably misunderstood the notion of 'public keys', so I would like to ask this
the last part you mentioned new public keys... (not public address)
what would happen with unclaimed airdrop in old format public address with old public key?
am I right on this? private key >> public key >> public key hash (public address)
if new public key used, would it affect our abilities to spend utxo in old public address?

Bitcore Core (bitcore-qt) will not allow it. So basically, when you have the new wallet installed supporting 2xxx addresses and you want to send to a 1xxx, it simply won't let you finish the transaction. This is also true vis versa from old Bitcore core to the new one.
http://btx.elitehash.net is still running the old wallet format. I'm at a loss now, how are pools supposed to upgrade? Or exchanges for that matter... Everyone is still using the old version, what are we supposed to do?
since no changes has been done to blockchain,
would it be possible and safe to have 2 core wallets in my pc and run 1 at a time based on needs
both versions (old and new) would point to the same blockchain data directory
when I need to do transaction to old address, I will run thru old version wallet
when I need to do transaction to new address (2..., s..., btx... ), I will run thru new version wallet

A lot of incomprehensible things I hope will bring clarity because the project is really interesting and if it does not work out very badly. So far, everything is like it, but these little things can frighten newcomers.

Doesn't matter because the BTX project and coin is dead.

What substance do you smoke? Huh I want it as well!  Wink Cheesy

That's a very nice graphics. My question to that though is what would happen to fees should BTX have the same volume of transactions as those other coins? Or is this graphics already taking volumes into account?

Can I upgrade my wallet in the future, like 1-2 years from today?

I am a long term holder, I've been holding for over 6 months, I have not open since the day I created it and added bitcore funds to it. I only check my balance when needed via https://chainz.cryptoid.info/btx/ knowing it's still there  Tongue and recently I checked my converted address since the old address is empty.

Thanks all in advance  Cool

That should not be a problem, but this is important update so it would be wise to see that you actually made to convert your old address while this subject is fresh and you have someone to ask if you run into problems.
