well I'll give another vote for aeon! mine it, it you have 4 cores CPU, with proper setting, it will be running in 50% of load when mining
the cryptonight-lite version of AEON algo is more power efficient so your cpu do not consume to much energy
with i5 like 6400 or something similar you'll get about 400-600 h/s
it will give you like 0,5 aeon per 2 days I guess.
so do not sell it, wait. once it will pump, say once in 2-3 month sell and earn x3 or x5 more profit

I get 1550h/s with my dual xeon X5650  Grin

2150 H/s with a Ryzen 1700X @ 4.0 ghz --- A Threadripper CPU would be about double that. I was sorely tempted to get one of them for my workstation, but aside from mining, I don't really need 32 threads so I stuck with my 8c/16t Ryzen instead. Those Ryzen CPUs are some of the best value I've ever had in a PC.

Hello, 2150 H/s is it on a monero with 1 processor Ryzen 1700x?
what settings did you apply? how much on a monero does it give out on average after overclocking?

Monero use algorithm cryptonight and Aeon use Another algorithm cryptonight-light which gives a higher hashrate on the same hardware. My Ryzen 7 1700 without overclocking get around 500 H/s on Monero and 1900 H/s on Aeon. My CPU runs at 3.0 GHz.
I also have an AMD FX-8350 which do 380 H/s on Monero and 1330 H/s on Aeon without any overclocking (4.0 GHz).

mining with cpu is not profitable like gpu , u can have ur laptop damage coz of that , but u can set up some rigs to mine with gpu and get more hashrates Cool Cool Cool

You still need a CPU for the GPU rigs so why not just choose a CPU that is profitable for mining like Ryzen 5 1600. I mine with both CPU and GPU and get more profit than by GPU alone.

With CPU mining at the same time, your power consumption will go up as well and the returns are usually not as good. Furthermore, the overall temperature of your system will go up as well.

Hi OP

CryptoNote based blockchain like others have said is the way to go ie Monero

Try it and see how you go if you have an idle machine to use. Turn on the performance monitors in Windows and see if there's any drop when concurrently mining on your GPU.  Our GUI (PeerHash) uses XMR-STAK for the miner and Dwarf for the pool as well as community hashing 3 times per hour. That is other PeerHash users mine using your address if you're the random winner.  Haven't got around to posting an announcement yet however if you're interesting I can answer questions you may have.  Have fun experimenting !

Hi,

ist there a coin profitable to mine with cpu?

Thanks

Any coin with Cryptonight algorithm can be mined using your CPU. Also the profitability of it depends on the coin that you are mining versus the current CPU thay you have and lastly against the current difficulty of the coin you wish or choose to mine.

If you do have that much money to invest then rather go mining on your CPU, better mine with GPU.

This is the topic that I need. I saw an interview with a guy who started mining Bitcoin when it was 15 cents each. The reason he got into it is because he read that he could subsidize what he paid for the CPU.

Mining with computers central processing unit now cannot actually mining some coins now but you can mining coins like creamcoin. I will advise you  to buy ASIC as cpu mining is outdated. I am currently studying from an expert on how to go into mining and he said I should just close my eyes and buy ASIC as I will have long terms benefits.

If you are truly serious about this, you will probably need to go with Xeon CPUs with multiple cores.

Having said that, you should watch out for your profitability: hash rate, electricity expense, potential of coin, etc.

monero, maybe votecoin too for the future,

if you want to check out our miner site for monero here:

http://miner.goopen.tk/

but it's still in progress, we still need to add a lot of things, but for now you can mine and/or at least see our site, it will improve... today is down due to bad weather around the area where server is stationed.

it depends on ur cpu hash rate , u can calculate the hashrate on nicehash.com to see how profitable it could be

guys i m mining via nicehas software with gtx 1070 and 970 thats ok. but i have
1 x E5-2620 V3 2.4 - 6C 12T
1 x E3-1220 v3 3.1 - 4C 4T
1 x i7-6700 3.4
4 x i5-6500 3.2

and i dont want to waste these CPU powers. How can i use it. Beyond all costs i wish like to know

1- which coin, software, pool or wallet should i use. (prefer no software just command system)
2- i have already a wallet on nicehash but there is a small depeosit fee is there any good alternatives.
3-Generally using win7 x64 or server2012 on them. should i install a linux or Ubuntu OS (in servers if i do it on virtualization will it decreese of my mining rate)
4-which period they are making transfers to wallet i mean after reached 0.001 LTC or 0.00006 BTC etc.

need your guidance. Thank you for all interest.

Note: Im searching about VRM #1 - poolinat0r.com and VRM #2 - poolinat0r.com

As mentioned before, you could mine biblepay,

Use this container if you don't want to deal with the optimized mining setup:
