I always message exchanges to get altcoins at them asap.
Doesn't always have the same result, but at least I try and I'm sure many more do.

In this case it was easy I guess, Chinese exchange vs Chinese coin.

Running a Experimental p2pool for CHNcoin (CNC) - No guarantee it works 100%
Solo mining seems to work better for now.

When you solo mine you always use localhost or 127.0.0.1 and the port you set up in the config file in appdata.

I don't think it matter if you are on the PC with the chncoin-qt client running but I used 127.0.0.1 without issues.

There is 4 ways to mine as i see it:

1. Solo mine - locally, internal network or other direcly to a coin client
2. Internal/external pushpool for personal usage
3. p2pool servers
4. pushpool with frontend for multiple users.
