The question that always pops up... Well, this is something that depends on your needs. If you want something to store value without taking  too much risk, I think gold is a good asset. The problem is that this is easily confiscated, you can not get on a plane and cross a country, for example, without being noticed by local authorities. Also, this is not something you can send over the internet with just a few clicks.

Yeah i'm agree because i know the price of gold is very slow and it's hard to expect big profits when investing in gold. This is very different from the bitcoin which in 2017 experienced some pretty steep price increases and I think bitcoin is the best investment even compared with gold.

So Bitcoin is better than Gold? Roll Eyes
Wake me up when you can transfer $1 billion worth of gold for $2 in ~10 minutes from any to any location of the world. Roll Eyes

Stop convincing people that bitcoin is better than anything not only gold, I can't afford to buy a single coin ever since price jumped from $1100 to $1800 Sad I didn't realized then but now I'm not telling anyone about bitcoin any more, because I've realized that I've found a gold mine and what an idiot I was to shout about it every where.
Bitcoin becoming mainstream and with 50K transactions per second in the future as we all know is inevitable but we must take advantage while is in infancy stage.

Btw, is it $2000 which you can take cash out of a country when you travel by airplane or was it $10,000?

Well the image clearly answers and I feel it done a brilliant job to answer op question. I have been personally telling my family and friends, to avoid gold and opt for Bitcoins since last September, and boy they did make some good money. As far the third post, you are really confused 😕, just cause it shoot up now you don't like it? So you mean to say, just cause you told people it shot up, wake up Bitcoin world is bigger than the you. Then again let's take advantage why so mixed. Be happy it's growing and keep on telling people, more people more useful for all.
I also want bitcoin than gold, but if I have it both then it is better.  Grin
But if I would rather choose bitcoin over gold. I would choose bitcoin, because bitcoin increases. $_$

You are right, bitcoin price increase more than gold price. Bitcoin is more valuable than any type of metal or any currencies in the world. Nowadays bitcoin price is amazing. I didn't expect that bitcoin price can achieve 2000$ in this year. It's really awesome.

It's true we adjust to our needs, although gold growth is slow but always stable increase good for investment low risk of decline,
For those who want quick growth in investment bitcoin is the answer and adjusted with the risk of decline is also quite high, depending on the needs

That is when gold developed, but the era of gold has gone, as technology developed, the material is no longer too popular, bitcoin itself is the new gold of the world.

If you compare Gold's profitablity directly with Bitcoin's profitability, then obviously Gold is no match for Bitcoin. But the thing is that Gold isn't only being used as investment tool. Most traditional investors that try to hedge stocks, bonds, oil, real estate, etc, take large positions into Gold as some sort of a safe haven. Profits in this case aren't really that important, as long as the value remains relatively stable throughout the years, and that's what Gold is doing very well.

Are you kidding by asking this question? We have seen the track record of both the things and when it comes to the flexibility, ease of access, availability and rules, regulations & control, bitcoin is far better than gold or any other commodity. Further, you can not divide gold in small fractions (unless it is in digital form) whereas you can make smallest parts of the bitcoin and that is point of difference in both of them.

Bitcoin is better only for short-term investments, this has already been discussed more than once. And gold has always been and will be a valuable asset even in the event of a collapse.

I don't think that bitcoin is only profitable for short term investment because what can you say to the people who are holding their bitcoin for long term? Not profitable? Bitcoin is designed either short or long term and they are both profitable and it always depends on the price that you bought but if you want to be on a profitable and safe investment then long term is the best and i can say about gold is, it will just give you slow profit.

There are many who make threads like this and there are many differences between them but I think bitcoin is long term, which I worry about when there is a dump of bitcoin holders will feel panic sell, it's not good for the short term because bitcoin will go back up although it takes time, you should know if you held bitcoin last year how much your profit you can even exceed 100%.

Even in that case I will take a bias (yet true) stand that bitcoin is better. See gold is there since a looong time and yet there are very limited opportunities with the gold. Even in case of business or speculations and on the other hand, bitcoin is new and yet it is showing it's potential again and again. Being a volatile in price, it makes lot's of opportunities even in the trading and hence I would still stand with bitcoin.
