PayPal has announced that it will now support the exchange of cryptocurrencies between users, effectively turning the platform into a fully-featured crypto wallet.

Previously, PayPal users were only able to buy, sell, hold and pay using popular cryptocurrencies - and only in select countries like the US and UK.

However, the latest update introduces the ability for US-based users to send and receive cryptocurrencies, transfer coins into PayPal from third-party exchanges and move coins into external wallets.

PayPal first announced its foray into the world of cryptocurrencies back in October 2020, at which point it granted US-based customers the ability to store select crypto tokens (including Bitcoin, Ether and Litecoin) against their accounts.

In August 2021, the payments giant extended its cryptocurrency offering to users in the UK, following positive feedback from users on home soil.

Fernandez da Ponte also announced that PayPal has been granted a full Bitlicense by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), which he described as a demonstration of the firm’s commitment to all regulatory guidelines that apply to its dealing in the crypto space.

The decision to push further into the industry comes amid a steep drop-off in the price of all major cryptocurrencies, caused in part by the decoupling of multiple major stablecoins from their peg, which has wiped out billions of dollars in value. Down from an all-time high of $68,990/unit in November 2021, Bitcoin is currently trading for circa $31,000 per coin.

Football's world governing body opened disciplinary proceedings last month following allegations that right-back Byron Castillo is Colombian and not eligible to represent Ecuador.

Castillo made eight appearances for Ecuador in their South American qualifying campaign.

Chile, who failed to qualify for the World Cup, lodged a complaint, but FIFA confirmed on Friday that Ecuador will keep their place at the World Cup, which starts in November.

FIFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Ecuador over the potential use of an ineligible player in their successful World Cup qualifying campaign.

Chile last week asked the world football governing body to investigate allegations that right-back Byron Castillo is actually Colombian and not eligible to represent Ecuador.

Castillo played eight times for Ecuador in South American qualifying, including a goalless draw with Chile in September and a 2-0 victory in November.

La Roja finished seventh, meaning they just missed out on a play-off spot, but believe Ecuador should be expelled from the quadrennial competition.

And FIFA have confirmed they are looking into the recent complaint made by the Federacion de Futbol de Chile.

An official statement said: "FIFA decided to open disciplinary proceedings in relation to Byron David Castillo Segura's possible breach of the call criteria for the indicated matches.

"In this context, the FEF and the Peruvian Football Federation have been invited to present their positions before the FIFA disciplinary committee."

Ecuador have already been drawn in Group A at the World Cup, alongside hosts Qatar, as well as Senegal and the Netherlands.

I honestly don't find it odd that he hasn't been banned yet  as it's not that this user has been reported week ago and nothing happened, but instead its been like 18 hours since the report, and on top of that, mods tend to be less active during weekend which is understandable.

I agree that its pretty straightforward case but we should give mods more time before calling them out.

For the simplicity, let’s say all the miners start mining at the same time — and each miner has it’s own computational power. The first miner can generate 25,000 hashes per second, while the second miner can generate 40,000 hashes per second. Now all these miners are in a race to find the magic number to solve the difficulty puzzle. What is the chance each miner has? The first miner has 25% of probability, while the second miner has 40% of probability. Today, I put up a post to celebrate my 365 days(1 year) of being registered on this forum but then I had to delete the contents, lock, and move it to archival because a user said it was merit fishing and other stuff. Truth be told I felt terrible because I know how much of a struggle it was to stay in the forum. I was offline from January 17, 2022, to April 5th. I won't go into details because it is personal.

This incident got me thinking about the forum before the merit system was created.

Aside from merit fishing, spam, low-value, and garbage posts, what other accusations were leveled against other members of this forum?
How do you create topics that you feel matter to you without making it seem as if you are merit fishing?
