Update: 6/23/2013The sample chips have arrived and final testing is underway. Final purchasing will begin once the design has been confirmed.
The majority of parts sourcing for the K16 is now complete. The pricing found on the forum thread has been verified and finalized for each of the assembly services offered. Payment acceptance will begin shortly.
BTC is the only accepted form of payment at this time.
The deadline for Assembly confirmation and payment is June 30th, 2013. We apologize for the short notice. The timeline for this project is very tight, and parts must be ordered quickly to ensure delivery before the assembly date.
Assembly will be processed in the order payment was accepted. A notice will be given in the thread with purchase instructions and link once the payment gateway has been tested.
Update: 6/16/2013Batch 1 emails have been delayed. My apologies. Everything is on track for being ready before chip arrival. There were a couple possible questions not addressed in the email, and it is being revised to ensure completeness so emails do not need to be sent for each process.
Samples were shipped to BkkCoins this morning.
90% of the accessories have been sourced, with samples en route.
Work on the PCB and bom is being finalized and should be ready for assembly prior to Batch 1's arrival.

Update: 5/29/2013Batch 4 has been purchased. Order #10425
Update: 5/25/2013Batch 3 officially has concluded. Thank you to everyone who purchased chips. Batch 4 has begun, and similar to the first three batches, will be ordered once half the chips have been purchased.
The batch 4 address is
14soUsHdamDEX9uS2Hbsne6sWASe9vzfBhThough Avalon has stated each chip will be tested prior to shipping, there are concerns regarding chip failure rates from batch purchases. The following solution will be adopted in the event faulty chips are discovered.
For future orders:
All customer orders after the timestamp of this post will be responsible for purchasing any additional chips required to ensure the completion of the requested number of assembled units. The amount of additional chips required is based solely on the discretion of the purchaser, and their personal anticipated failure rate of the Avalon chips. Some members of the community have suggested between one and five percent as an acceptable range to mitigate the risk of receiving a faulty chip.
Each purchase is processed in a First In, First Out (FIFO) queue. This means those that purchased chips earlier in each batch will have their order processed and shipped before those that ordered later. Chip failures will be processed similarly. In the event a faulty chip is discovered during testing, the faulty chip will be “assigned” to the customer whose order is being processed at that time, who will be responsible for the replacement or acceptance of the faulty chip. This addresses the random nature of faulty chip discovery, and ensures an even distribution of risk.
In the event the customer has not purchased, or purchased an inadequate amount of, replacement chips, additional chips will be available for a fee of
BTC0.0939. The additional cost for replacement chips represents the limited number available at the time of assembly.
Additionally, in the event a single-chip solution has not been offered by the time the order is processed, any chips remaining after assembly and testing may either be shipped with the finished units, or refunded the purchasing price.
For purchased orders prior to today.
The above applies to all orders previously purchased, with the following exceptions.
Customers which have already made a purchase will have the option to purchase additional chips for the original price of
BTC0.086, so long as there are chips available, and any chips purchased and not used may be refunded the purchase price or shipped along with the completed units.
In the event the reserve is depleted, customers with an incomplete amount of chips may opt to be refunded
BTC0.0939 for the remainder.
In an effort to ensure there are enough reserve chips, and they are distributed evenly, the board add-on has had the following change.
Customers wishing to purchase additional chips to round their order up to the next full board must have at least 50% of the chips required.
Finally, 100 chips have been set aside in each purchase from both the reserves, and my personal purchase, to be used as equilibrium chips. In the event a customer experiences a disproportionate amount of faulty chips in comparison to the rest of the group, these chips will be used as replacements at no additional charge.
Any requests for these chips to be used for your order will almost certainly ensure you do not receive them
Update: 5/23/2013As most of you are aware, I have been working with board developers, PCB manufacturers, and Assembly houses to offer a complete mining solution for those that purchase chips. The following information is tentative pending working prototypes. Prices should be reduced and finalized in the coming weeks.
Chip purchase:
BTC.086 per chip
PCB and components:
$35 per 16 chip board
Assembly:
$60 per 16 chip board
Testing: Price TBD. Testing will be available, with pricing determined once the procedure has been finalized.
Hosting:
8% flat fee based on miner production, plus electricity.
Chip purchasing will remain unchanged. All customers who chose to have their chips shipped direct, or to another assembler, will be processed in the order received upon chip delivery.
PCB manufacture and component sourcing will be completed and ready for assembly prior to chip arrival. Subject to change pending final PCB design and testing.
Assembly will begin the same business day as chip arrival, assuming they arrive early in the day. Otherwise, assembly will begin the following business day. Assembled miners will be delivered as completed at the end of each business day, until all units have been produced. All miners not receiving burn in testing expected to ship within 72 hours of chip arrival. Burnin testing shipping times TBD once the process is finalized.
Assembly is open to those who purchased from other group buys, however;
miners assembled from chips arriving through other group purchases will experience significant delays due to increased shipping and processing times, and will not be processed until all units from this group buy have been completed. Additionally, these chips will be processed in a FIFO queue, which will begin once the minimum board run quota has been reached. Hosting will be made available. Those who elect to use this service will be processed in the order received, concurrently with assembled miner shipment.
Miscellaneous parts including heat sink, stand offs, screws, fans, USB cables, and power supplies are currently being sourced, and will be available in both kits and fully assembled with the miner.
Shipping fees for each variation will be calculated and posted in the coming days once more information regarding size and weight are received.
Batch 3 will soon be complete. Once finished, Batch 4 will commence. All purchases that did not make the Batch 3 cutoff will be credited to Batch 4, and a confirmation email sent.
An email regarding assembly options will be sent next week to those who have already purchased chips to ascertain interest in the options available to determine the number of miners produced from each batch.
Update: 5/22/2013Batch 3 has been purchased: Order number 10325. Initial pricing posted. An updated OP will be finished 5/23/2013
Update: 5/20/2013In order to secure the shipping date, the third batch will be purchased once half the funds are received.
Update: 5/12/2013Batch two is closed. Batch three chips available now. Please use the Batch 3 address when purchasing.

Update: 5/11/2013Batch purchased early
75eb1ba03a133927ef69bcad721148ea52c4773787ebf50258c60d1566b868e7Batch two has been purchased early to lock in the shipping date. Thank you to all who have ordered.
I am offering 1000 chips from my purchase in batch two for those having coin conversion difficulties, leaving 1209 chips Available for purchase.
Update: 5/10/2013Avalon has released their design. I am having it verified and getting pricing for fab and assembly. These numbers will be used to gauge open source projects to determine the most cost effective route and give accurate pricing for finished miners. Pre-orders for assembled miners will be available once pricing and manufacturing are confirmed.
Update: 5/9/2013I have partnered with developers to provide the equipment necessary to turn Avalon chips into miners. This includes boards, software, assembly, and miscellaneous parts like power supplies and cases. The goal is to have all the parts and equipment necessary ready prior to the chips arriving to reduce turn-around time and get functioning units hashing as quickly as possible.
I am also working to build out my warehouse to host up to 30kw worth of miners. More power is available if required.
Once prices are finalized and prototypes are hashing I will release specs, pricing, and purchasing options.
Any chips purchased through this group buy will have priority cue placement as they will arrive at the same time as the first batches sent to assembly. Chips purchased through other group buys will have the option of using this service, but will have slower turn-around time due to increased shipping delays.
Update: 5/8/2013Batch one is now closed. I would like to thank all of you who purchased chips.
Pre-orders for batch two are now available. In order to facilitate the purchase and lock in an early order date, I am purchasing the batch once half the orders are received.
The batch 2 address is 12Ns8RCHVTzTkVMk8h3i3q5M2mFV9UCSZj
Update: 5/6/2013The fee for batch one chips will increase to 15% total, equaling BTC.09, Thursday, May 9th, 12 p.m. UTC. Batch one has been funded.
Once batch 1 is sold, funding of batch two will begin. Once batch two is 50% funded, I will fund the remainder and purchase from Avalon.
