I'd be happy to continue with the format we've been doing with the Premier League but I'm not sure if there's any websites that'll do it. Only thing I've found so far is the FIFA site which I'd be interested in doing as well or running them both if we can find a site. The FIFA website one is interesting in that you have to make all your predictions before the tournament even starts:

SCORING SYSTEM

Group Stage Scoring

Correctly predict a Group winner: 10 points
Correctly predict a Group Runner-Up: 10 points
Correctly predict the top two teams (in any order): 3 points
Correctly predict the entire group in the correct order: 15 points
Knockout Stage Scoring

For each correct team in the Quarter-Finals: 3 points
For each correct team in the Semi-Finals: 4 points
For each correct team in the Final: 5 points
For the correct World Cup 2018 Winner: 10 points
For the correct World Cup 2018 Runner-up: 8 points
Correctly predict a fixture (both correct teams and the correct position in the bracket): 10 points

Anyone interested in getting a pool going for that until we find a site for the one we've been doing?

I think it would be great if we can do the same style as Bbc predictor even if we don't find a site we can always do by posting our predictions in a new thread in games and rounds section. The only downfall is that scores can be copied from other members (not that i care about that). I am in for a 25 pound in btc betting pool in this format. I don't like the Fifa one.

My score in the results tab says 3150.
My score in our league table is 3050. It makes no difference though as I’m in 3rd either way.

I just noticed StephenCurry333 hasn't even logged on since February 15, 2018 so not sure when he'll see my message. The prize money goes to second place if he doesn't claim it, right?  . Jokes. I'll put it into the pot for next year if he doesn't but I'm sure he'll claim it at some point. Someone keep an eye out for a site we can use because we won't have long to get something sorted. I'd still like to do the FIFA one as well though.  It's worth doing either way as you can win some prizes from them.

I would prefer this format as well, but probably would join the other if it is only option available. What can I say, I simply have to have some money riding on the World Cup

I am interested for Fantasy one as well as score prediction tournament. Maybe even more for Fantasy League. 20$ fee sound ok.  My sweet spot would be around 50$ but it doesn't matter in the end. I will be playing EPL fantasy league vs. my mates anyway, so one more private league is always welcome.

Just a reminder that the scores will not be available after 23rd May(so it says the BBC website). Everyone make a pic of both results tab and table tab (well only Cicciobtc needs to do that as other places are settled). My final score is 3010 as both in Results tab and both in Table tab which is correct.

Payments have been sent to the winners placed first to fourth. Cicciobtc who is in fifth place hasn't logged in since May 15th to confirm his score and send me his address.

Does anyone wanna do the FIFA prediction? Haven't been able to find any sites like the BBC one yet for the World Cup. I think predicting the exact scores will be a lot more difficult for the World Cup than it is for the Premier League and at least it's something different. I'm still up for doing both though.

Probably £25 in bitcoin for the WorldCup one and the same for the next premier league season but I'll probably try get a higher stakes one going as well at £100 (just for the Premier League though), but depends on how many people join. Hope for five at least but hopefully ten or more. I'll create a new thread for both pools soon.

I have already posted this before but it seems that it got ignored.
Scoring is a little bit different - simplified for this tournament: 1 point for correct outcome (winning team or draw) + 2pts for correct score & 0.5 points for close score. Quote how they define close score:

We use an equation which factors in goal difference and total number of goals. Don't worry about the mathematics - just follow this rule of thumb: You're close if you've picked the right outcome (winner / draw) and:

    Your score is 1 goal out...
    ... or your score is 2 goals out, but you have the correct goal difference

The site allows creation of private leagues (called pools).

Anyway, I am in for whatever type of competition you end up organizing.

I just realized that I never actually wrote my biggest problem with FIFA predictor you proposed. As far as I understood you have to do all your picks before competition even started. That way we lose much of the competition dynamic. We basically pick our winners and just wait for competition to end. There is no situations where you take long odds as last resort to try to catch winning spot.

I would prefer any sort of competition where we have to pick winners/results for every round. That way favors the ones who actually watch the matches and adapt their tactics.

We can do both. I think the FIFA predictor is interesting for the same reasons though. All your predictions have to be in before the start and it's out of your hands once it does and there's no changing your mind based on form etc. I agree we should do the scores every game version as well because like you said it adds another edge to those watching the tournament and if your teams don't get through on the other or there's some huge upsets it could end up pretty boring. How about we do both and then just combine the points to find the winners?
