Prolly yes. As it looks now they will be very close as they are past 8k mark and 7 days to go. 2k is not that much if we compare to some ICO without serious content raising tones of ethereum just in days. #justthinkingoutloud

I am just checking in after some time and I'm glad to see that more than 8000 ETH have been raised. I'm really looking forward to see this working, not just for personal profit but because I firmly believe in the need for decentralization of the energy markets.

I'm sure that in countries like Spain, which implemented a "sun tax" (making energy generation by individuals unfeasible in order to protect the interests of the large energy concerns which in turn have dozens of former high ranking politicians sitting in their boards), we will have to wait a bit longer as SunContract might be defying some powerful interests, but eventually free market dynamics will have to win.

Sun Contract was all the  buzz in my ico chat group this morning.  We like the concept, the project overall has a noble undertone, and decentralized energy is needed, it is a cut-throat industry.

  I've checked your early replies regarding using local power grids to accomplish the electricity swap but am still unclear exactly how this is accomplished. 

  Yes, i have heard of selling extra electricity "back to the grid", which generally means selling it back to the local utility monopoly, presumably at their price. If the price you sell it to them is the same as the price you buy it from them, then that seems fair enough. 

 If local utilities have a monopoly, why would they allow their grid to be used to sell electricity peer-to-peer at a lower cost? There is much talk of cutting out the middle-man, but they will still need to be some kind of middle man in any case, yes?

 So what is going to motivate local utilities to allow you to sell electricity THROUGH THEM at either a lower, or higher price than the price they are currently offering?

  Of course, they will need to be integrated with suncontracts.  Will they be receiving a "cut" of the action?

Energy willl be traded between producers and consumers and not to local utility company. Monopolies are not allowed in jurisdictions where energy market is liberalized in some way. Our main goal is to come to those kind of markets first and later try to get into monopolized markets.

Middle man as a distribution network will stay - TSO or DSO because we will still need local grid to transmit energy. By liberalized legislation they HAVE to give us access to the grid.

Is it worth investing ? How will the platform generate profits ?

For any ICOs is really unprofessional to give an answer for the first question. Worth or not.. you see it depends from the point of view. My personal view is that in this flood of ICO that one surely have real people with great goal behind. You can also see they have webminars and good references.

As far considers generating profits I suggest you to read white paper. Basically that (reading white paper) would be my first action when considering investing in any ICO.
