Wish you guys would have come up perhaps 5 months earlier when I last needed such a service! Great concept wrapped up in simplicity. I do wonder about fees as you'd need pre-splitting up into chips but it seems you've managed that well enough.

This is a much needed service for Bitcoin users. It will help make Bitcoin more anonymous than it already is. More investors are likely to choose Bitcoin if coin mixing services are successful and are not too expensive.

This is definitely no short of a revolution for bitcoin mixers. Previously traditional bitcoin mixers has never thought of such a creative and anonymous way of doing things and chipmixer is definitely here to innovate.

Also, the fact that they are able to promote their product on the forum whilst only running on donation means that they are in here for the long run. They're not just here to make a quick profit but rather to help out the community.

I think the admin of the site does get some donations from users that like the site service and from the amount of donations collected, the admin are still able to handle the transaction fees but in my opinion as the site gets more and more popular in the future, more donations might be needed to handle the huge volume of transaction fees.

I think that the donation model is only going to be partially covering the transaction fees. Because rightn ow if you are sending bitcoins you're looking at least 0.001 BTC and that's if you're lucky. Exodus is charging like 0.004 BTC per transaction which is crazy. It's ultimately not up to us how chipmixer watns to operate their business - the donation model might only last a few weeks before a fee schedule is introduced. Who knows. But it's still a hell of a service.

This is a much needed service for Bitcoin users. It will help make Bitcoin more anonymous than it already is. More investors are likely to choose Bitcoin if coin mixing services are successful and are not too expensive.

Makes everything much more simple and effective in mixing coins, ikr?

Honestly they are just asking only for donation instead of fee for their service..
This is one of the good mixer base what we are seeing right now.. unlike other that you have to choose either high fee to increase the anonymity or speed.
For now this is a good alternative for those halving problem and they don't want to pay high just split them and choose the smallest base on the image given in homepage..
But i suggest for the developer that they should change the split instead use a slider and percentage for service fee ..

Total cost: 0.002 BTC donate. You pay what you want.

I do not quite understand this part. Does this mean there is an optional 0.002 BTC donation or that there is a fee of 0.002 BTC plus whatever optional donation the user wants to add? If it is a fee, does it also apply when using the gambling part of the mixer or is this exclusively for the bitcoin mixing side of ChipMixer?

Seems really good mixing service, especially when users don't have to pay fee and it depends on how good and honest they will be, I mean donations. I think there will be need of 0.05% fee or something similar because donations will be on first time, not forever. Well, service is good but on another hand interface is terrible. Yes I understand it's not your aim but make a good template as bitmixer has and this will make you amazing.

I think there is no fee there you only choose the smallest fee like you seen 0.002 btc after the split you can only see the donation and withdrawal and deposit..
This is not the same as other mixer. that you just slide and you will receive a percentage or rate how much the fee they will deducted to your bitcoin to mix..
This is unique mixer and i think we are using chip instead of bitcoin..

I see the benefit when someone got btc through some shady transactions or even stole them but when I am simply doing my everdays transactions why should I be incentivised to use this?

People complained that 0.004 donation in example is too much. They didn't understood this is volontary donation and they pay as much as they want. You can donate 0.001, 0.002, 0.004 (or even 0.001 + 0.002 making it 0.003) and so on.

When you gonna add merging option for 1 mbtc coins? This tokens will be quite useless due to high network fee we have right now.
If you have 2 chips of 1 mBTC, you can merge them into 2 mBTC chip. Or you can create 1 mBTC voucher then use it next time.
Or donate it Wink

Imagine that everybody's browser history is public. Even if you are not into illegal stuff, you would still fear that your friends seen you are a member of My Little Pony's fan club. Maybe they havn't checked it yet or maybe they are laughing behind your back.
Blockchain is public and anyone competent can track some of the transactions. Let's say you've just withdrawn 0.5 BTC out of your 100 BTC cold storage and you went to buy a coffee. You paid with bitcoins and waitress checked your transaction on blockchain.info. Now she knows you had 0.5 BTC before this transaction and you just received it from somebody with 100 BTC.

With ChipMixer you receive both small and large chips. If you pay for 2.5 mBTC coffee, your wallet software will use 4 mBTC chip or 2 + 1 mBTC chips.

I haven't tried mixing yet with my funds in chipmixer but when I have participated in beta-test you have conducted, I got 7 mBtc in the form of 4,2 and 1 mBtc chip. At that time I couldn't merge that 1 mBtc chip with 2 or 4 mBtc. Do we need to have 2 chips with same value to merger them?

Because your everyday transactions could be traced if someone wanted to analyse the blockchain.

For example, you sign up to an exchange like Coinbase and you give them your ID.  Then every time you send Bitcoin, it could be linked back to that address and potentially to your identity.

Or, you sign a message with an address on Bitcointalk and your email is public.  Then someone could potentially find your identity through other means.

Any ties that you have to your addresses can be a privacy issue for you.  Even when it's not likely, mixing is a nice convenience when you're not a public figure.

Small update here.
We have created ChipMixer plugin for Electrum. It allows you to tumble your bitcoins with us without leaving your wallet and it is even easier to use than website (prefill forms, creates new wallet and imports private keys for you).

You can check readme and screenshots here: https://github.com/chipmixer/electrum/tree/plugin/plugins/chipmixer
Pull request is pending, maybe it will get included in next version of Electrum.

You can check readme and screenshots here: https://github.com/chipmixer/electrum/tree/plugin/plugins/chipmixer
Pull request is pending, maybe it will get included in next version of Electrum.
WOW. Now thats awesome! This just makes the regular user want to use your service just from how easy it's starting to become.

I never tried a mixer service before just because I really never needed and IMO it's too much work for no especial return if you don't really care that much about the extra privacy.

But being able to do everything from your wallet just by following a few steps really makes me want to try out. Good job ChipMixer!

Edit: Is it possible for me to download and install the plugin myself to try on Electrum while they don't include officially? I tried to put the chipmixer folder in my Electrum\plugins folder and the option doesn't show up on Tools -> Plugins.

Current version of Electrum does not allow plugins to add their actions in Tools menu (or any other menu). After this pull request gets merged to released version, this plugin will require copying chipmixer folder into Electrum\plugins folder and enabling it in Tools -> Plugins.
If this pull request gets merged, only enabling the plugin will be required for it to work.

Till then, plugin works only with development version of Electrum: https://github.com/chipmixer/electrum (branch: plugin). My advise: wait for official one. I cannot tell you "it's easier!" then ask you to compile it yourself, can I?

If this is a small update, I'd expect to be blown away by a big one! This is excellent news (professed Electrum user here). Even if I'm unlikely to use the service much, having the option to use is one less reason to move away from Electrum. There are a number of other mixer plugins out there already, but none with chipmixer's side bet option.

That's awesome! Even the bitcoin mixer giants hasn't got anything close to that. Looking at the screenshots it looks absolutely fabulous and will definitely encourage electrum users to get in the habit of using a mixer for privacy.

I'm wondering though, if i use this plugin does it mean that chipmixer will be able to access my private keys on electrum when they need it(since deposit is done through the plugin, right?) and also when i withdraw it's basically just importing private keys into a separate wallet, correct? Isn't sweeping it more secure since there is always a risk of these private keys being compromised and when they get spent nobody knows who to blame?

Plugin source code is open and ready to inspect. ChipMixer doesn't read or send your privkeys anywhere. When you click "Deposit", plugin prefills send form with deposit address and payment comment. There is no hidden action - sending is the same as any other Electrum send.

ChipMixer's default is to give the most privacy, but allow to take less.
Importing private key does not leave a trace on blockchain so it is more private. Sweeping is more secure.

ChipMixer's pre-funded chips and balance holding model makes using bitcoin (or any coin) mixers more approachable and useful for mainstream businesses. In fact, if more press got out on how this service can benefit different industries we could see this new approach to an old service contributing to general adoption of bitcoin.

Here's a few examples of how ChipMixer's approach can help any community:
  • Charitable donations, particularly those of a large size where the donator wants aboslute anonymity; All the charity needs to do is set up a ChipMixer account
  • Political campaign funding, where the competition between parties/candidates may lead to keeping their funding available for the campaign a secret

What other examples do you all have?
