In the beginning was wondering when I would collect 90 to rank up to Full member, it looked that it would take half an year. Now a bit more than half an year later I have enough to rank up to Hero, but lacking activity and have to wait to February.

Who said it's difficult to get merit??

If it was so easy to get merit, theymos wouldn’t have had to add 36 new merit sources.

You are one of the top posters, don’t take what’s exceptional as the norm. Nullius could have said that it is easy to get 1000 merits in six months.

For most responsible users of the forum, getting some merit is easy, but getting enough to rank up according to activity is not. That’s why most people thought merit sources needed to be added and theymos listened.

No, you are wrong here, I'm no different than you or any other regular guy/girl here on the forum. My English is sh!tty, I don't have the experience and knowledge yet to the part of the community I wish for.
I cannot dedicate more time to all this, I really wish to, but I'm a father and have many other responsibilities.

Nullius is beyond compare, he is exceptional he had the knowledge, the humour, the "zing".

I saw the Merit stats (Just for fun) in the spreadsheet. What about the new participants, shall those be added to the list too? Quite interesting statistic by the way. Big part of the top merit receivers are in this campaign.

DarkStar_ stopped updated that list. You can quite easily copy the spreadsheet, and make your own list (the required formulas are in hidden cells).

I've mostly stopped because it seems to error quite often with scraping one or more profiles. I've been meaning to try to fix it (or at least add new members/remove those who have been removed), but it's at the back of my list.

I've had a 50 in one go (very unexpected, and not from an alt, I promise)

We may also give bonuses for the best posters from time to time.

Those 36 new merit sources have a 10 merit source size (not 100% sure on this, based off of a few that I talked to) and were added because they were the top senders in unrepresented sections (also not 100% sure, and based off of a few that I talked to)

With the obvious exceptions of theymos and satoshi, LoyceV might well be the first "regular" forum user to break 1000 earned merits.  Which, for anyone who joined the forum after merit was introduced, is now the threshold to attain Legendary rank.  That's quite the achievement.

Since I realized that, it feels like it takes forever to get there. I plan to change my personal text to "Self-made Legendary"

It feels amazing to be the first user (I'm not really counting theymos and satoshi for this ) to reach this! Now I can sit back and watch DdmrDdmr overtake me.

According to Vod's BPIP, and obviously ignoring theymos and satoshi, there is currently 1 self-made legendary, 21 self-made heroes (of which 5 don't have the activity requirements), and 93 self-made senior members (of which 7 don't have the activity requirements), but at least a couple of the seniors are clear cases of merit abuse.
