I could smack myself on the forehead    Shocked

I forgot to set the blocknotify option in the coin config file to trip the longpolls.....oops

That is the reason for the strangeness...LOL

I agree with you wholeheartedly. But this is not the expectation of the public, so such a coin wouldn't get the hype. And it is still better in this case than for FTC/CNC where difficulty readjustment was done after x hours - here is's increasing continously.

The amount of reward per block drops continuously though to make up for that... It is designed specifically for pre-mining, a little thing like constantly adjusting difficulty wasn't about to stop them, you just pick a coin that has some already out there excuse for lowering the reward constantly to make up for it and presto, you're golden.

Pre-miners, you mean.

This thing is being pre-mined right now, you are one of the pre-miners.

Blocks seem to be coming in every second or so, it is in pre-mining mode, difficulty deliberately started ridiculously low so the the author could start mining a block a second or more while you set up your mining then you mine a block a second or more while preparing to post and so on.

It looks like no attempt at all was made to set the initial difficulty at a reasonable level, instead the whole thing is designed specifically, like mincoin, for pre-mining.

How fast are blocks being found, and what is the command people need to use with e.g. cgminer to make it not expect at least a minute between blocks? (As otherwise no wonder everyone finds only stales, sixty blocks have gone by by the time they check for new work.)

This is basically deliberately designed as a pre-mining scam.

It started on block 50 when i joined.. So no premine before forum post.

Even if they do get accepted, they almost all become orphan blocks.

I thought "pre-mine" meant blocks were mined before the coin was announced. I'm confused. Now "pre-mining" means anyone who starts mining too quickly after a coin is announced?

Doesn't matter, the pre-mine is happening right now, a block per second or so.

What we are seeing right now is the actual pre-mining happening.

No it is deliberately setting difficulty insanely low so that there is no chance of the target time between blocks being reach, but instead, blocks will be found insanely fast so that the pre-mining can happen right in front of the yes of the people who jump in on the pre-mine to grab as many blocks as possible before the difficulty reaches the kinds of levels it should have had coded into it right from the start as the starting difficulty.

Actually since it has still not been out many hours, right now we should be begging more miners to join because just the few who got onboard this fast are not enough to bring the block time DOWN to the target.

It used to take me HOURS to generate a new genesis block for TESTNET, which was 16 times less difficult than the main bitcoin net at genesis. Similarly it should take HOURS for just the rigs that get aboard immediately just to find the first block, but as more and more miners jump aboard finding that first block would get more and more likely so by the time they find it chances are good they will find the second one at about the target time...

my definition of premining is creating a new currency and mining it before making it public, thus denying people the chance to be a part of the "landrush".

Anyway, I set up my cgminer according to the thread but all I get is "new block detected" messages. No actual blocks mined or shares accepted, even though it shows the GPUs running a the regular scrypt kh/s.

I agree new coins should have the initial difficulty set more reasonably. But that's not really a "pre-mine". It's just a sloppy rollout that disproportionally rewards the first miners.

With per-block difficulty adjustments it should level off quickly though, in theory.

I'm solo mining via pushpoold... getting decent returns (I'd think...if this is anything like mincoin... about 93 BTB over the past 30-45min...I have about 20,000 KH on it)...

this coin looks like it may have some things that will set it apart and the authors gave it a bit of thought. I was waiting for something like NovaCoin that wasn't premined... unfortunately:
* so many crapcoins have been released lately it may get lost in the noise
* smaller numbers aren't as sexy as the large ones...(although mincoin has made it to some extent...hopefully this turns into something)
