Blockchain is here to stay, no matter what. So any real and solid project has a chance. The vast majority will be left behind and disappear. Bitcoin's death (if) might be a catalyst for this "natural" selection.

The problem with bitcoin (and ethereum) is their poor scalability. If they can't figured it out, they will fail 1000% sure. Bitcoin may stick around a bit as a store of value, and as a kind of "bitcoin standard" on exchange, but definitely not as a currency.

So back to civic: Does civic fluctuates with bitcoin's correction ? Of course, for now. Will civic survive if bitcoin dies ? Yes, it might very well because it depends on what they are building, and how well implemented they are (partnerships), but not on bitcoin. In fact, technically they have nothing in common, so they are independent.

Civic's identity platform has a mobile app through which users can enter their personal information, which gets stored in encrypted format.   Man, I bought it around 3k Satoshi then he's in for a very short time managed to make a circle of up to 10k Satoshi and almost returned to his former price. These little tokens are very unpredictable. But CIVIC is not the case, this is a very promising token, following the course of the most successful amount of cryptocoins.

Civic has lot's of partnership already, so that give them a good lead over competitors. The first in place has always a big advantage, if the project is good of course, and I believe Civic is.
